Er - GB is playing Italy, not Switzerland.
Yeah but hard to imagine Murray losing to Italy.... That would be like Nadal losing to Federer.

On clay, Murray could lose to Fognini, Seppi and Chardy back to back, given his form

Murray usually ups his form for DC ties. He takes them as seriously as the Slams.
He could - although current form was enough for Murray to defeat John Isner in his own backyard on clay and he is 2-0 on the surface versus the guys you list. There's also the fact that Murray seems to find another few percent whenever he has a Union Jack on his shirt.

We know there is a good chance of Murray beating Wawrinka in the Davis Cup. And with Federer's bizarre on-again-off-again form it would be no surprise if Murray beat Federer too (Isner beat Federer at Davis Cup, in 2012 btw). So I think its worthwhile for Murray to focus on Davis Cup.
Muzz is severely lacking motivation after having pretty much achieved his life's dream. Back surgery didn't help either. I really think he should take some time off, perhaps after Wimbledon. It'll give him some time to think if his heart is still in the game. If the fire is still there, some time away will reignite it.
Yeah, it's always a problem for Murray. If he wants Wimby, he needs to tank the clay season. If he wants nr1 spot he can't afford to tank clay season, but then he won't win Wimby...
Personally I never believed this mug.
Why to skip Masters tournament? It works when match is on someone's racquet, not for vulturing mugs.
Do you really believe this nonsence ?
That mug is the current Wimbledon and Olympic champion, a multi-millionaire who has overcome serious adversity in his life to become a globally recognised star.
You on the other hand would appear to be a no-mark, done nothing, been nowhere kinda guy who thinks he looks cool by branding multi-millionaire grand slam champs as 'mugs'.
Well done you.
Don't bother about his statements. shhhh..

Ah. The absence of any discernible grammar should have alerted me.
It's odd you know - I work alongside many Indian people and I've yet to meet one I didn't like. You know who is obviously the exception.
You just elevated your intelligence level to new height speculating Ramesh is Indian.
Great job bro.

Yes. Yes. The reason Murray loses during the clay season is because he doesn't take them very seriously.........................
There probably is a bit of that. At this stage of his career, to a degree, he's just going through the motions. It's the old American, Roddick/Sampras-type attitude to clay. Why bother? When does Wimbledon begin?
will he also skip wimbledon in order to focus on roland-garros ?

Maybe a bit - but the biggest reason for me is that one of his biggest strengths (movement) is compromised on clay; he just doesn't move as well on that surface.
He says that with time and lots of practice, he can be effective on clay - but I'm not sure his body can take the investment of the hours he needs to be competitive.
But when you get right down to it - I couldn't care less if he never wins another match on clay as long as he is competitive at Wimbledon.
Chardy is French.
