I've posted this in another thread recently, but I'll add my 2 cents here. Previously tried some of Mamba's "premium" gut, as well as checked out some other auction site gut. They were both very similar if not from the same source. Very inconsistent in gauge throughout with some bulges that made it very difficult to string, minimal coating, and though it didn't break on me, my tennis buddies had it snap during the stringing process a few times each. Overall played soft and like you'd expect natural gut to play, with just okay longevity.
A few months ago I picked up a set of Global Gut, and expected it to be the same as the other stuff. But to be honest, it was much better. Not sure if I just got a good set or what, but it was much more consistent throughout, so stringing was way easier. Also had more coating (I purchased the black, not sure if that makes a difference) more akin premium guts. And it played great and lasted much longer. It lasted well over 20 hours with poly crosses in my Exo3 Tour 16x18 which is a string eater. Sure it's not quite Babolat VS, but if it's this consistently good and not just luck of getting a good set, then for the price it's worth it if you string for yourself. The other stuff, not so much, because of the headache of stringing and the fact that it was breaking. I have two more sets on the way, so I'll see how compares to previous set I had bought.
