90% is too much. Don't like it. Also they sell you 80g of 90% for the same price of 100g for ll other bars. A "healthy food" rip off tax.

70 is good though. 85 is ok as well.

However the Dark Lindt with Orange is the GOAT.

P.S I have tasted Lindt only once, and that was years back. So I don't exactly remember their taste.

Anything from mainland Europe, followed by British then Canadian with American last. American chocolate is so weak.

Agree. Hershey is disgusting. Not a chocolate really. And all those caramel bars (Mars, Oh Henry, Sneakers, ...) yuck.

I like their 72% - 86% products. The 86% stuff is harder to find - most people probably prefer Hersheys. BTW, Hersheys announced an across the board price increase of 8% - probably due to the price of cacao.

I don't like Lindt as much though I'm not sure why.

I like this as well:

For sheer economy, this is pretty good. My wife uses it for cooking and I sometimes grab a square if there isn't anything else around. The problem with these big bars is that you can just keep grabbing squares.

Cote d'Or dark was the bar that got me back into chocolate. I was used to the stuff like Hershey and had pretty much forgotten about chocolate until I had a Cd'O. It was almost like getting high. That was a while ago. I hope Kraft hasn't ruined it.

Lindt dark (blue wrapper) with the liquid truffle filling is very enjoyable.

Forgot all about Trader Joe. We have both examples ^^^ in our cabinet currently. :). The Belgium pound plus is a great deal.

Readily and cheaply available, so probably not the best, but more than good enough for the casual consumer:

Excellent, Sir. I had some Belgium Pound Plus a few months back.
Trying to remember Cote d'Or - that was over a year back. I also loved those Belgian Dark Truffles. So sinful.

I like Intense Orange, but i would not call it the GOAT. I had Intense Blueberry a few months back and lolled.

I think that you can enjoy the chocolate more with less sugar. The stuff like Hersheys overpowers the taste buds with sweetness and I think that's true for a lot of foods today where you can't enjoy and discern the real taste. Sweetened tea of coffee is similar.

Lindt 99%

Bitter and buttery, amazing!

Everytime someone goes to America, i'm always asking them to bring me back Butterfingers though :)

I never liked desserts or chocolate much but the only chocolate bar I love is the original Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bars:

When I went to the UK last December, my cousin asked me to look and see if I could score some Freia Melkesjokolade, she was crazy about it. I couldn't find it but maybe some Norwegians or anybody that tried it could weigh in.

say what you want about snickers but they are cheap, easy to find, taste good, and are decent as a energy bar substitute in a pinch.

i go with snickers. they may not be as pure as expensive chocolate but for in terms of all around versatility and availability they are tops IMO.

Uh, that's Snickers Chico... not Sneakers.

American chocolate is the best. Hershey, M&M Mars... all great candy bars. You ever have a Reece Cup? I've tried all these so called great European chocolates... the term over-rated comes to mind. They're good. But nothing to salivate over. I like the Lindt, Toblerone, Lady Gadiva. They're expensive. Sell fairly well... I give them to my wife as gifts. "Ohhhh, fancy European chocolates! I love me some Mr. Lob!". So they do serve a purpose. :)-

Sorry, but it does taste like sneakers, hence the confusion.

Reese Cup? LOL. Junk. For the rest:

Which ever one is the biggest. LOL Snickers, Kit-kat, Reese's, etc... Variety is the spice of life.

We seem to have the same taste and distaste for chocolate.

This I find the most disgusting chocolate ever made:

Terrible. Sometimes during Christmas time or for some other occasions, some people try to be nice and leave those at other peoples desks at my work. I just toss them in a garbage bin.

Snickers bars still use partially hydrogenated soybean oil.

I thought that we got rid of that stuff in the 1990s but apparently not.

If you have a sweet tooth, then you're probably more inclined to prefer American chocolates. If you prefer dark, then you'll probably prefer European. BTW, there's a Lindt plant about 30 miles from where I live so you can have a European company making chocolates in the US. I find that Lindt tends to be on the sweet side for me - at least the ones that you see more often (the balls of chocolate). They sell the dark stuff in the supermarkets though selection isn't great where we shop.

Godiva is waaaaay overpriced. Not good value for money at all.

But Leonidas is great. Too bad you can get it only in Belgium as far as I know.

Both are pricey but I agree Leonidas is much better (they can be found in the streets of London; flown in daily.)!

1 Euro for an ice cream is a pretty good price.

The Whole Foods in Boston has a pretty amazing variety of chocolate bars (mostly dark) from around the world. This stuff is pretty expensive too and I haven't really tried any of it but it would be fun if I weren't so cheap.

Still expect apology for uncalled for xenophobic remarks. I thought you are better than this. Thanks.

There is NOTHING xenophobic in that comment! You're the one who keeps writing controversial posts filled with your contorted subjective thoughts. And then when someone replies anything which is not conforming to your ideologies, you cry " xenophobia.....mommy......xenophobia........he no agree with me mommy....whaaaaaaa "

I've loved Reeses all my life, do those count as chocolate bars?

The older I've gotten, I have enjoyed Almond Joy more and more. And Snickers Peanut is still yummy :D

Dammit, making me hungry now because I'm fasting :(
