Amazing to have Rock back. You can never really say never in wrestling, but I didn't think The Rock would ever return for a match. Thank goodness he came back to host at Wrestlemania. Dark days with The Miz as champion.

A couple of returns off the top of my head.

Undertaker has made some good returns as well, like Summerslam 09 after CM Punk beat Jeff Hardy. lights out, Hardy gone. Oh sh1t, its The Undertaker

His return in 2000 with a totally new gimmick was awesome.

Triple H in 2002 in MSG after coming back from his first quad tear. That was so well promoted. It was some ovation and went on ages.

(The Undertaker 2000)

NWO sucked in WWE, but Hogan was my guy when I was growing up. Loved this return too.

Austin at Backlash 2000. You don't hear pops like this anymore :D

Austin at Unforgiven 2000. Badass new theme.

Last one for now. I consider this my number return. Even though he was on TV before it. Over four years out of the WWE ring and he comes back with this match. A bit hesitant, but it was pretty much like he never left. HBK, the greatest performer of all time.

You could do a top 10 list of best returns and legit put 6-7 for Taker and another 2 or 3 for HBK

2 of my favorite Taker returns

this one is GOAT

1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvPpXVXiek8 (Skip to 4 minute mark)

Return as the deadman at WM20

2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBr_Kz2MCrk

Cant see videos at work. So dont know if one is one of my favorite returns.

Taker had been out for a while. I think after losing a casket match to Yoko (dont remember for sure though). One night on RAW, HBK was saying he was going to find the Undertaker. Later in the episode Talers music stars playing and he comes down into the ring when he raises his arm to turn the lights on DX music hits (Break it Down) and HBK throws off the trenchcoat and starts dancing.

Not really a return but my friend I cracked up.

You're almost right. The time you're thinking of is when Shawn beat Undertaker in a casket match at royal rumble 1998. It was hilarious on Raw the next night.

Yokozuna beat Undertaker in 1994, to set up another Undertaker return at Summerslam 1994. That is when we had the 'underfaker' and Leslie Nielson and police squad were called up to investigate. lol.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying.

Yeah, Eddie was amazing. So many great matches. Such a sad moment looking back now with Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit at the end of Wrestlemania 20.

This was one of the best matches I've seen. Especially at the time, but still good today. Cruiserweight title vs mask match at Halloween Havoc 1997.

I watched that match on the WWE Network a couple months ago :) He has a match with Psychosis from 97 or 98 that's insane also. The WCW cruiserweight division was spectacular.

Can't think of many wrestlers that literally held nothing back like Eddie and Benoit. If you watch some of the better tribute videos, you will be saddened (as I was) by how many wrestlers die in their prime. The industry really needs a more responsible approach to supplements/steroids.

There are less deaths now, especially 'mainstream'. WWE have their wellness policy, but you could argue that is a load of BS and is just there. Some people get caught, but then you look at other guys. No way possible for them to be this size, they must be on something, but no. They continue to wrestle.

in general, wrestling has cleaned up its act a bit. I might just be naive. By wrestling, I mean WWE. I can't speak for other wrestling promotions.

McMahon's idiotic argument is that the average size in the locker room is down on what it was back in the day..

It's pretty obvious that as older wrestlers get replaced by younger ones, the pressure is on the latter to grow as fast as possible to 'fit the bill'. It's a dangerous cycle of pressure and insecurity that may lead to some taking (potentially) lethal shortcuts.

I'm loving the fact that Jack Swagger is finally in a program where he's getting the attention he deserves.

Hard to monitor general contractors except by testing. Who pays for all these tests?

I don't think a doping ban is feasible. I just think they should hold seminars with former pros as guest speakers and educate the guys on side effects, consequences etc. The show itself should be tuned away from incredible feats of strength imo.

And who is the face of WWE?

And who is the face of WWE?

No idea who that is nowadays. Is it Orton? The face of the organization is meaningless, anyhow. If people are treated daily to Ryback's, Big E's, etc. that's cementing the image of the pro wrestler as a steroid buff. Just my opinion.

Hopefully they unify the IC and US titles at SummerSlam. Add some significance back to the IC title, and get rid of the US title which seems to be pretty much a non-issue nowadays.

How often is the US title defended at PPV? Or is that a bad term?

Dean Ambrose hardly ever defended it.

Since Sheamus won it in May, he defended it once at Payback against Cesaro, then once on Main Event (against Del Rio I think).

So, not enough... Just doesn't make sense to have the two titles anymore.

I think WWE is more concerned about guys abusing pain medicine than steroids. They changed the wellness policy a few years ago. When first enacted your 3rd strike you were supposed to be fired never to be hired again. Orton got his third strike and they changed it.

Thats why he was still kinda around got booted off the Marine 3 movie and jobbed to a buch of people before they brought him back into the title picture.

There's a video somewhere of Bret Hart supposedly interrupting Shawn Michaels, except it's Shawn pulling a prank on the crowd. Got me too! :D
