Why are Collin Altamirano and Noah Rubin not playing in US Open juniors?

I looked for them in the posted draw and they are not there. Mmoh, Tiafoe, Kozlov and Donaldson are playing. UVA recruit Henrik Wiersolm is playing.

altamirano was born in 1995 which makes him ineligible

He played in the USTA 18's a month or so ago. Does US Open use a different cut off birth date? It has been awhile since my kids played but don't they still use Dec 31 as the age cutoff?

USTA goes by month and the ITF, which all the junior slams use, goes by year. And Rubin has decided to go to school, probably because he has already missed more than a week.

usta allows to play until the month you age out, itf ages out by the year of birth. altamirano born late 95, therefore eligible to play kzoo in august but ineligible since january play any itfs

Jared Donaldson lost to Jasika 6-4 6-3. When will these Americans finally deliver?

Kozlov's still in the Draw. I guess Rubin winning Wimbledon Jr.'s over Kozlov was not enough.

Winning or nothing for you, sounds good but I'm sure it is the crux of your tennis game. You are likely a major choke artist. LOL

Unfortunately, it appears Koz had to def in the match this morning.

Tiafoe and Black are on court. I'm sure losses there would please our friend Vik. Misery loves company.

Tiafoe serving for the match currently up 5-4 in a back and forth game. Hopefully he closes this out. Black is losing to an american girl that went through qualifying and has already upset a couple of seeded players in the main draw.

Tiafoe wins. Black and Dolahide both Americans. Vik's misery still has a chance to come through tomorrow.

Dolehide has a nice aggressive style game. Reminds me a bit of Davenport. Their match is currently being streamed. She's pushing Black around the court. Black seems to be more consistent and gets the ball back in play. I think Dolehide will win this if she doesn't make too many errors.

It's not my misery Andy. I have high standards. The USA is the Texas of the world. We should be producing grand slam winners, or at least top 10 players.

I am critical but it's for good. I was highly critical of Yuki Bhambri because I wanted him to improve. And now this year he has done better.

We all have high standards. Negative bashing players and programs is a funny way to show concern. Sure the truth needs to be said, I get that. The American crop of kids coming up is as good as it's been in a while. For those who have not noticed, tennis has a whole as improved dramatically outside the USA and Texas in the last 20 years or so. Give the players a chance to improve and prove themselves. BTW, no-one wins all their matches and for the most part mens tennis has been dominated by 3 players in the last decade. Yeah, I know, Spain, France, Serbia, blah, blah, blah.

For many the above is Captain Obvious stuff, for others a reminder.

Tiafoe lost. Tough one.

It was a tough loss. He had 3 match points just couldn't convert. I think they may have been on Haleys serve. Also buried a sitter FH in the net deep in the 3rd set breaker. Interesting match dynamics. I thought Haleys injury TO serving at 4-5 was a BS move, more so because he was tired. Overall both played a very good match. I don't see Tiafoe losing to that guy next time they play, maybe longer than that.

No need to disrespect Halys. He got it done in the end.
