I'm not sure if there's a bit of trolling going on here or what. First sentinel claims the recent Godzilla has nothing on the terrible one, and then fena says American Hustle was bad.

Not at all, each to their own. We have a long running TV series over here called Hustle, which is a comedy drama where they pull of a long con on someone. The pace is fast, you're constantly guessing what they're up to and it's a great hour of TV.

American Hustle was slow, predictable, had alot of filler and wasn't worthy of a running time of 2 hours + imo. The acting was good, the story just didn't engage me.

It's a shame because i've been looking forward to seeing it for awhile now, it just didn't live up to my expectations. I watched the Wolf of Wall Street on Thursday, now that I did enjoy!

Am I the only person on this board that watches FX's The Bridge?
I hope it gets a 3rd season, I hear ratings are awful.
Its my weekly escape to the Southwest via TV.

I LOVED the first season. But after watching the first couple episodes of this new season i didn't like where they were taking the show so i stopped watching.

All is Lost (2013) - Robert Redford all alone in the Indian Ocean -- just one actor in the movie. Everything goes wrong one after the other.
I liked it. It's almost like a documentary, btw, there's no humor or "drama", or sentimentality, there's no family shown waiting for him, no army trying to save him ... just him all alone and lost in the ocean.

It does not seem to be a true story, but I am sure many hundreds have died this way.

Harold and Maude (1971) - I laughed a lot. Interesting but was panned by the critics.

The boy Harold reminds me a lot of the new Sherlock character (with the long name) and the Uncle looks very much like Sherlock's brother (I think they could be the same person, except that this was a 1971 movie).

It's been re-evaluated as a cult classic. I thought it was good, but not really my sort of thing.

Wonder Boys(2000). Always liked this film

The show needs more fun characters like that Hispanic con man who is just fun to watch. Him and his big homie were good.

The female doctor is a giant bore, just eye candy.

Its dragging a bit, they killed off Sean Astin too soon.

Still something to look foward to me, there is just nothing on Sunday nights.

I'm looking foward to the Walking Dead except it looks to be more violence than story this year from the promo videos.

I've just got hooked onto The Walking Dead (just seen 5 episodes of Season 1 since yesterday).

Phew !!! Well done. Better than The Strain.

Gotham was very good last night. The female who plays the future catwoman is 15 years old! Wow, online pics she looks 20-25 years old to me. Supermodel face.

She reminds me of Simona Halep a bit. Must be the eyes. Yeah, I thought she was older than 15.

I watched Gotham as well. I think I'm going to enjoy this.

Heart and Souls (1993) interesting comedy, Robert Downey Jr, about a boy/man and four guardian angels who are back for some unfinished work.

... And Justice for All (1979) - Al Pacino.

Your out of Order!

i like that film too. its kind of strange and quirky. then in the end all hell breaks loose. then its strange and quirky again. the court room scene at the end almost feels out of place because its so dark. The the credits role and Al is going for a Jog....LOL.

Compared with other court room dramas which have very little humor ....And Justice for All sticks out as a sort of black Humor satire of the entire legal system.

Good film. i am always surprised it was such a big hit. it comes off as more of a cult film too me.

yeah its really good. They kind of throw you off guard with the soap opera drama stuff and then.....WAMMO! I think its a better show when you watch four or five episodes at a time. I have trouble week to week as it kind of makes you edgy and on the edge of your seat.....wait a week....left on edge again.....wait another week etc. etc.

You should check out Jericho. Its only a season and a half long and finishes really well.

The Trip to Bountiful (1985) - Geraldine Page. Wonderful, poignant film about an old lady who tries to get back to the town she was born in. Page won the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Yeah, i am watching several episodes a day. Although, that does wear me out. OTOH, i find that if i watch one a week as in some of the new ones coming out (The Strain/Z Nation), i keep forgetting details and people's names etc, so the continuity is lost.

btw, i have been pondering over it, and biologically the zombie thing just doesn't make sense.

I think TWD is an okay show but not deserving of all the appraise or hype it gets. The first season is okay, but it kind of goes downhill from there in my opinion.

I'm thinking of watching this flick tonight. Have heard good things about it. If anyone here has seen it already, is it worth it?

True. Season 1 was good, the first episode was the best iir. They say season 3 is good too, but frankly, i am almost at the end but there's only fighting among different groups. It is going downhill.

They still have not addressed how this started or any more insights into the virus/plague. Just dragging it on with fighting and killing. They've killed off so many of the initial group that they had to bring new characters in !

I've seen enough blood and gore and guts to desensitise me for life. :D

Anyway, I'll probably see Boardwalk Empire after this. Heard good things about it.

Went to see "This is Where I Leave You"- my wife likes movies where characters anguish and regret.- but, really, this movie was more like a TV soap opera, except what usually takes 2 years to unfold on the small screen was compressed into 2 hours. Very bad.

Watched the first episode of Gotham last night. Very good, especially for a pilot episode. I am liking what I heard about what they are going to do with the Joker.....Can't wait!

Anyone watching Fox's Sleeping Hollow. Confession time- can't keep up with it, the show goes 1000mph and too many plots to follow. Flipped the channel to some Russian movie instead.

not sure what to think about the equalizer. i am a big fan of the original show. seems kind of strange putting denzel in that role. i would have like to see them put a british actor or australian actor in it. maybe even an edgy american actor like Viggo.

i will check it out when it comes to DVD. I thought Jack reacher had a big equalizer vibe to it when I watched it. Loved that film. Looking forward to the sequal. Person of interest has an equalizer feel to it as well.

The Purge 2, a good one. I like straight up action with a bit of 80s style actiion in there.

I will probably check this one out. The first one was pretty impressive for what they had to work with. i just wish they wouldnt have killed off ethan hawks character.

Downhill? It positively falls into the Mariana Trench it gets so bad. The slashes to the budget are painfully obvious.

the show has a lot of ebbs and flows. you might watch a couple weeks where not much happens and then Bam....zombie hordes over run and 2 of your main characters get eaten. i think a lot of people just watch an episode or two and get bored with it. I have thought all the seasons were good. The first season just had a lot going on because there were only six episodes. season 2 got a little slow in the middle. Seasons 3 and 4 were excellent IMO.

Honestly i am curios to see how this show plays out in the long run. Unless they dramatically change the direction of the show we are just going to see a lot of the same type story lines from seasons 3 and 4. It will be interesting to see what happens.

he just doesnt fit the role. Have you ever watched the original show? The star was edward woodward who played the character like a pompous british jerk who spouted dialog like he was performing shakespeare and still remained serious. its kind of what made the equalizer unique.

this "Denzel" version just looks like prequel to Man on Fire.

so i guess you just wanted another 007 type adaptation.

i vaguely remember the TV show and i'm glad the movie did not walk in lockstep with the series.

and yes, the movie is kinda like a prequel to Man on Fire, which i have absolutely no problem with! Man on Fire was another very good movie.

as Denzel has gotten older, he's found his new groove in terms of character and what role he plays best. Equalizer fits this mold, and he did excellent in his own right. same can be said of Liam Neeson who has had great success in his later years recently in the same type of movies. i assume you would have went to see it in the theatre if he was playing the lead role. personally i wouldn't have minded if Neeson starred in it, but Denzel Washington did an excellent job (fyi, he is a great actor - even without a British or some derivative accent).

perhaps you should actually see it before making judgments.
