yes but Fawcett is supposed to be next Tomas Berdych and Hsu is supposed to be next Kei Nishikori in the making. they are that talented
This kind of posting used to be comic relief. Now it is just sad, even pathetic.

True. I'd love to live in a world of fairies and unicorns like he does, must be nice to have absolutely no connection with reality--plus we know he never went to Stanford, which makes it all the more tragic. If Whitlinger keeps his job that would be quite the coup on his part. This kind of posting used to be comic relief. Now it is just sad, even pathetic.
Fawcett's record against other Blue chip. record speaks for itself.
vs. Blue-Chips: 7-4
lost to Brymer but it was very close and it was last year. notable win against Hitlzik

Stanford knew this one was going to be tough. Tulsa is better team than they seem.
Where do they go from here ? NCAA team championship Next year, THAT is where. 3 of the top 10 blue chip coming to Stanford next year. It doesn't get any better than that.

Anyone knows what's going on at the Farm? I can't see any of the freshmen on the roster for this year... Where is Fawcett? where are the new recruits?
Fawcett got a main draw WC into Tiburon
Hsu and Fawcett will be #1 and #2 in ITA rankings. they are good enough to win these challengers
Standford has gone into stealth mode. Their new assistant coach, Fedace, has required all new recruits to employ internet silence. I hear he is talking personally with Coach Gould himself about coming in and tutoring the incoming class.
For their first practice, the new assistant coach took them over to the women's practice courts to hang on the fence and leer at the Stanford women's team.
That's only something they would do at UVA. And women and men practice at same complex on Farm.
Sarcasm. Given the new assistant coaches ramblings on women, this is a joke. Living in Fremont, I dare say I have been to more Standford practices and matches than most people on these boards.
Judging by the results at the Northwest ITA regional it looks like a promising year for the Card.
I just watched Tom Fawcett play in Tiburon against a solid seasoned pro Matt Reid, and even though Tom lost 5 and 5, I was really impressed by his performance. Very solid game, good attitude, and he was up and serving for the set in both sets... Missed his opportunity to to win either but still very positive match. Will he play #1 on the team...?
Not really. Morissey and Romanowicz were upset early. Paige lost to a player from Gonzaga. Hsu and Fawcett were positives but keep in mind the northwest region is not the strongest and Stanford did not dominate it.
sorry you misunderstood what I meant, but I meant "solid" as a positive. Didn't even think it could be taken as a negative.in my opinion "solid" is a negative term to describe a player's game.
I agree with epaige. Very good results at the regionals, with 3 very good performances in singles.
I wonder who will play #1 this year... but in any case it's a much stronger team this year.

predicted line-up:
1. Romanowicz
2. Fawcett
3. Morissey
4. Hsu
5. Tsodikov
6. Wilczynzki

Paige
Goldberg
but it will probably shift a lot through the year all throughout the lineup.
Agree, they won't make much progress from the hole they have to climb out of this year. It says a lot about the field and Stanford when Hsu and Fawcett end up on the winning end of it, and not good things.
Ho graduated.Ho is in there too. but Fawcett will be #1 and Morrissey #2.
Fawcett is future #1 in NCAA men.

I was there and watched the whole thing. Your take is all wrong. Morrisey, Tsodi and Maciek were hurt but played well. En route to quarters loss, Paige beat three seeds, including projected No. 2s for Oregon and Berkeley. And in doubles Strobel and Paige lost to No. 1 Cal team in a breaker. Those Bears were ranked in top ten of country. Card are definitely coming on. Can't wait for season to begin!
it is bit odd in that whenever a young top junior comes into NCAA, they usually do really well in their 1st year and they taper off at Stanford, example being Alex Clayton.
I wonder if there is some level of figuring you out after the 1st year by your opposing players, somewhat similar to Pro tour.
predicted line-up:
1. Romanowicz
2. Fawcett
3. Morissey
4. Hsu
5. Tsodikov

I would expect Paige to play 4-6. Would be strange if he didn't start. Also don't forget about Strobel either
Ho graduated.
LOL! Nostradamus never lets facts get in the way.....
Or Stineman, who actually is the type of player you would call "solid." Has a pretty big serve, decent movement, and not much else. He should be able to charge the net and get points against all but the best guys at #6, and he has pretty consistently won at that slot. I'd be surprised if he wasn't playing 5 or 6, especially against subpar teams.
But the truth is Stanford should be pretty solid this year. They won a lot of matches at 1, 5, and 6 in the past. Their 1 is back, and as we've demonstrated, they have depth. The issue has always been dubs, 2, 3, and 4. Fawcett, Romanowicz, and Hsu are huge improvements at those three slots, and dubs will be much better. They should be around the 12th-16th in the country, which sadly is a big improvement over the last two years.
Ho graduated.
he is in as graduate student.
