After winning his first Davis Cup title in 2014, Roger Federer's draw in 2015 isn't half bad. Should he give another go at it?
yes, marcos deserves credit for that !Interestingly Federer has more victories in live singles rubbers than every other great player from the open era. In fact excluding players like Baghdatis who have racked up a lot of wins in the zonal divisions (although he still deserves a lot of credit for regularly committing to play in those not so glamourous ties with Cyprus), I think that only Nastase has more live singles victories than him in the competition in the professional era.
No, he needs to focus on RG. Defeat Rafa in RG final and then retire with a bang.
LOL, he is not going to beat Nadal at RG.
He should focus on one more Wimbledon.
And no, I don't think Federer should commit to DC in 2015.
That is loser mentality. Champions don't think like that. We have to believe the impossible even against all odds.
People are saying for years how it is impossible for Rafa, Nole, Fed to win stuff and yet they are wrong.
I will never stop believing. I rather aim for top and come a bit short than not aiming at all. Even if you miss a bit, aiming higher still gives you more chances, since we don't know where the limits are.
Although, I agree W record and 8 W and 10 finals is tempting. It will look a lot more prestigious in the record books. Although beating Rafa in RG finals is more impressive. That is the only thing missing. Then he goes from goat to god.
No it isn't. It is not going to happen. I deal with reality not fantasy. I don't even think Federer would beat Nadal at the USO these days.
One more Wimbledon title or one more slam anywhere for Federer will do the trick.
Sorry, not going to happen is not reality. It's a fantasy if you try to predict the unknown future.
Reality is that we don't know yet.
Hey a lot of people are broke and they believe they can be millionaires or even billionaires.
And the gap between broke and billionaire is a lot bigger than gap between Multiple FO finalist and goat winning another FO beating past prime Nadal.
Ok, each to his own. Good luck with that possibility. I don't even think Novak will beat Nadal at the FO and Novak is six years younger than Federer.
Federer needs to improve his slam play, because Nadal is about to become the first man in the Open Era to win the Double Career Grand Slam, and well on the way to 18 slam titles, and 2 Olympic Singles Golds.
Federer is about to fall behind Nadal officially, and the Davis Cup cannot save him.

He just said in an interview that he'll definitely play DAVIS cup this year again.
Off topic : He was asked about his new house and he said he doesn't own the entire building just a flat !!
"ABOUT TO" !!! ??? Yer mean he is coming out of a long layoff and will blitz the field at Melbourne ??? !!!
Another singles gold. You don't say !!!
Yes that's what Nadal tends to do after a break, blitz the field.
Yep, the Olympics are on CLAY.
Personally I would say no now that he has it.
He might even consider "doing a Murray" and skipping the FO (given he has no chance of winning it with Djokovic and Nadal) and spend that time training for the grass season and saving up energy for it to go all out at Wimbledon.
