Roger really had to hang in there in the final last year. Playing Hewitt in Queensland, getting used to a new stick, losing the first 6-1...it could've gotten really ugly. A rematch this year isn't out of the question, but I wouldn't mind seeing a surprise final.

Anybody watching the Pironcova vs Suarez Navarro match ? Fantastic rallies and winners almost every points ! Pironcova's shots and fitness looks better than ever and Navarro is firing on all cylinders

Simon down 0-4 to Duckworth; the Aussie is slicing a lot and Simon isn't able to create pace off it.

duck is small muscular challenger level player. but he can be very good. he can be top 50 if he can find some consistency off his groundies and move better.

And Duckworth wins 6-2 6-2. Simon definitely wasn't looking his best but Duckworth put the pressure on and was able to clamp down on the Frenchman.

Another Aussie with a good BH. Kokki (?) takes the first set, 6/4

He's another solid up-and-comer. Lost to Kyrgios in the Australian Open Juniors final a few years ago but it was a close match. He's a year younger than Nick so I don't expect too much this year but he will be one to watch.

By the time Wimbledon comes around this year that makes him the same age as when Kyrgios beat Nadal.

Just in general Australia looks to have a very strong group of young players. Saville and Duckworth should have successful careers and be long time top 100 players. It's not just Kyrgios and Kokkinakis who are good young Australian talents.

Good wins to Ducky and Kokki. There is definitely something to the current cadre of young Aussies taking confidence from and spurring each other on.

We'll see what Tomic has later tonight.

Best I've seen him play in ages thought tbf, really aggressive today, should do it more often.

No he really shouldn't. But yes I agree, he is in great form in this match. As much as it pains for me to say this. But I think tomic can get to the semis with this kind of form :cry: why is this happening to me??

Kokkinakis-Tomic if he gets there would be fun to watch though
