I have a question on these frames about the forehand. When i play with my Organix 10 or even my Prince Exo 3 Tour 100 (16x18) i can hit a nice deep forehand with good topspin that seems to have good net clearance and depth. With the vcore 95d it seem to go much lower and often hit the top of the net. Technique and stringing all the same. Anyone else experience this? What should i do differently. Backhand, Serve and Volley, and high forehand, are awesome with this frame otherwise

Just joined. Coming from the leaded RQiS Xl 95. Both racquets about the same weight and SW (did the racquet customization with TW). Got to hit tonight.
Immediately you notice the lack of spin compared to the RQiS. However the stick feels rock solid and is a joy on slices, volleys, and my flat 2hbh. Still finding the range on the forehand. Noticed some forehands going long first but once i got a grip of the "free power" i toned it down eventually.
It's a different feeling having all that free power on a players stick. Lets see if it can help me in long matches.
Serves feel more solid, but again a noticeable lack of spin.
Overall its looking good for now and hopefully its just not a honeymoon phase. Since i use a lot of spin in my game, its nice to have a stick that helps me in my weak spots (volleys and serving).

Currently using the 330g version until my 310s come in. Thankfully I was able to trade in my 330 that I bought here for a 310 as I didn't even use the racquet yet.
They do not play the say, I personally like the 310 more. The forgiveness is there, and it doesn't feel muted like the 95. I also don't like the excessive free power that came with the 95. Pretty happy with how the 97T plays (both 330g and the demoed 310g)
Thanks for the response. How about comfort? Stiffness is on the high side (67 same as the TF 325 which I had problems with). Any jarring vibrations or pain after matches?

I've had no issues with either racquets in regards to comfort. I actually enjoy the control with comfort I have. Previously I played with the PB10mid and while it was the most buttery smooth racquet out there, I much prefer the 97Ts

Lol I have the same racquets as you. I did sell the Tour but kept the XL.
Leaded up to 325 SW, I thought the 95D offered a bit more power than both. My Tour was at 330 and the XL was 325.
It does feel stiffer than both RQiS's, but both sticks were really flexy, the Tour especially. I also thought the 95D served best of the three.
You can still get a 95D in the popular 4 3/8s grip from Millet Sports (ActiveInstinct) in the UK. They ship to Canada and the US. I just ordered a couple more 95D's from them so I have a couple extras now that production is finished.
As for tension, I use Kirschbaum Pro Line II at 48 (mains) and 45 (crosses). I've found this stick reacts very nicely to lower tensions giving me a bit extra depth with no loss in control. That being said I do hit heavy topspin, flat hitters may get the trampoline feeling at lower tensions.

I'm trying this racket now for the first time to see if it'll dethrone by 6.1 95 16x18 habit.
So far, it seems to hit similarly (as specs would suggest) but has a more jarring on the arm (noticeable after completing playing), despite the lower stiffness.
May be old strings, will change them out to see.

I just got a second copy of the 95D, I'm playing with the full set of Solinco TB 17g and settled at 50(M) 52(X) lbs.. After hitting for a few more hours, the string started to loosen up a bit which made it easier on the arm, although it is still stiff but not jarring at any means.
The only thing I hate about it is the stock yonex grip, it started to come loose while in the middle of playing. I had to replaced both.

I loved this racquet, but I had the same jarring experience as you. I hated selling it, but it got to me for some reason. Really great stick though.

Since I may be testing the yy 89T, I was wondering how people were taking to it and also the 97 may be more in my range so I might test that at well. I really loved the six one 95, but wanted more comfort. How do these yonex frames compare? I've never hit one.

PS: if I get a pair of 95D, do you think that I could replace the grommets with 97D grommets? I don't like the red grommets that 95D has.
The 97D head size it's bigger than 95D one, and it shouldn't work. For Stan and Lleyton, Yonex makes black 95D grommets, or they use real 97D grommets?
The only replaceble grommets that I can find for the 95D, are 97D black grommets.
For the past year, I have been playing mostly with Gamma TNT2 16 in this strung at ~52 for crosses and mains. It has been a good balance to take out some of the power and keep it from being too stiff. Another combination that I'm trying now is Luxilon M2 Pro mains at 45 and TNT2 16 crosses at 52. The hybrid with some added lead at 9 and 3 seems to been a great combo. Without lead it felt like the ball was flying on me. Just my experience so far. Tried TNT2 at 55 lbs and was a bit too stiff for me. Hope that helps.

Woaw, I played with Yonex Vcore 98D...what a nice racquet. If 95D is better, or at least the same, it's a very nice racquet.
I have to say that I hated the design, and the head looks very strange, because it feels square near the throat, but rounder near the head...and the red grommet looks awful.
The head size also felt very small...felt like a 95"
But with the 98D I feel that I can hit as hard as I want and the ball goes in.

I tried 2 and 4 grams of lead at 12'o clock with Frame 1 and 2, I took the lead off after 5 min. it was terrible, I was hitting everything long (no control).
I then tried 2 and 4 grams at 2 and 10. A little better, but I still dint think I needed it. So I took it off, this racquet just needs the right string at the right tension and after that you just need to hit with confidence. If you like to hit the ball early this frame will do all the work for you, you have to have good footwork.
I am a 5.0 shb, i grew up on clay so my natural game is to hit heave top spin and move the opponent around, waiting for anything short to flatten out and follow it in. I can serve around 110 mph and the kick serve had tons of spin on it. I am switching from the Bio 200 lite (I feel I maxed out on what this frame has to offer), so the switch.

I got lucky, someone put up the post in the racquets section instead of the for sale section. I ended up getting three new ones for $300..
I cannot believe i never demoed this frame, but in a way i am glad as in the past 3 years. I have moved from a 4.0 to a 5.0 and don't think i would have liked this frame then.
I hear the paint chips very easily on these frames..? is it true?

I love hitting with this racquet, power is great especially on my ohbh. Sometimes the power is just too much. I think it is because of the feel , balls seem to just come off the string bed too quickly I never really feel connected to the ball. I have been using luxilon 4g and synthetic gut cross at 58 pounds and I'm still not 100% confident of going for my shots.
I recently got hold of a vcore 89 and I thought I would post here before heading to the 89 thread.
Has anyone hit with both for an extended period ? Is the feel much better on the 89 (see comments above), how about power level? I'm just wondering what tension and poly I should be stringing up on the 89 compared to the 95d.

I played with these frames in 2013/2014 for about 4 months. I am going back to them..!!!!

I miss the weight this racquet generated on each shot. I have gotten a little stronger in my core and upper body, hopefully now i can control the frame a lot better.

- Yonex Spin (blue) - 1.25
- Signum Tornado - 1.23
- natural Gut/signum PPP
When i used this, i played with the tornado and i felt it to be too powerful, so i will try the yonex poly spin first, then the YPPT and the tornado last.
I intentionally got a grip size smaller, since the stock grip is very thin and i want to swap it out for a leather like i had last time.
Is it true you need lead between 12 and 3, 9 on this frame?

This is still my main racquet. I play with leather grip, built-up butt cap, overgrip, and damp. No lead... but that's because I like it a little more head light. I like the maneuverability for my volleys.
Many Yonex users like to put lead at 10 and 2... which is probably why they put Microcore there in the newer VCore lines. That would be my first suggestion, but you should experiment.

GioV, what string do you use and tension?
I usually like a smooth poly in there. Currently, I have Hyperion @ 48/45 and it plays nicely. I liked ALU Power a lot in it too. Some people like poly in the 40's and I'm one of them. Others don't. I'm not sure if you would find it too powerful.
When I first purchased the racquet, I was warned that it could be harsh on my arm. I first strung my racquets with gut mains and poly crosses and it played beautifully. I believe it was Pacific Tough Gut a@55 lbs, but I forget what poly cross I put in, but it was probably @50lbs. I took out the RDS 002 Tour (orange frame - 48 lbs tour bite) last week from the closet. I'm not too comfortable playing with a 98 frame. With the new string set up I was surprised I enjoyed playing it.
With that in mind, time to resurrect the Vcore 95. I felt the frame was stiff @ 48lbs. I plan to dial the tension down to 42 lbs (Tour Bite 17g).

Doesn't matter what racket i played. ..always come back to the 95d. I think,this time for good with a set up of Wilson gut/ big ace pro supex at 55/48 I'm more than satisfied.
AI 98 it's a great racket,but I'm more used to 95sq frames.
PS. I have put 95d besides other 95sq and the 95d seems smaller.

I demoed the SI 98, but after drilling with it and playing with it in a couple matches, I ultimately came back to my 95d.
I was given some Wilson natural gut by a teammate. I usually string 5 lbs lighter with poly, but I saw your post. So I strung the gut @55 in the mains with Tourna Big Hitter Black Zone @48 in the crosses. It feels so nice and plays better than I remember. Thanks for the idea!

2 - lead at 12 (3" strips)
3 - lead at 12 and 2 + 4 and 8 (2" strips)
4 - lead from 2 to 4 and 10 to 8
5 - lead at 3 and 9 (3" strips)

After using half a reel of lead tape (probably have lead poisoning), over 20hrs of indoor court time and $700 later, i have OFFICIALLY switched back to the 95D. My setup is as follows
- 4x3" strips starting at 12 = 3g
- 8 grams in the buttcap
- Signum Tornado/Yonex PPT @ 50/48
- Wilson Synthetic Leather with a flared out buttcap.
