WTA Sudden Death League: Indian Wells

If no one wants to organise then I'll make a stab at it:

Welcome to the second event of the 2015 WTA Sudden Death League season: Indian Wells

Rules of the game:

1. Every day of the tournament that day's OoP will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

2. You have to pick one player per day through the Round of 32. In the R16, quarters, semis and finals you pick one player per round.

3. You can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you have no picks remaining, you're eliminated from the competition.

4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5. NEW RULE - You cannot advance to the next round via a walkover since it is hard to know exactly when someone announced they were pulling out HOWEVER this rule does not apply once you reach the semifinals

6. Since you can no longer win a match by a walkover it is highly advised that you make a back-up pick to your main pick - when listing your picks make sure you specify which is your back-up.

7. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he retires before the match, your back-up pick will be used.

8. NEVER edit your pick. If you want to change your pick, please quote your old pick and choose a new player. Edited posts will not be taken into consideration.

SCORE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
1 correct pick: 40
2 correct picks: 80
3 correct picks: 120
4 correct picks: 160
5 correct picks: 200
6 correct picks: 240
7 correct picks: 280
8 correct picks: 360
9 correct picks: 600
10 correct picks: 1000

it doesn't matter whether I am in the game or not, you posted your pick at 6:37 PM here, 2 minutes after the match started (not warm up). Late is late, you can't cheat your way through.
Got mine in just as the match was starting. Lol you're not even in the game.

Troll elsewhere please. If members of this game or the one running it have a problem with my pick being selected just as the match was starting then I'll sit this one out. It's just a game, not that serious. But yes, they were finishing warmups actually.

This is my first time running this so I can only go on posters honesty especially given I'm in France and was asleep whilst most matches were played.
JJGUY thanks for your input but I've played both the ATP & WTA SDL for a couple of years and have never doubted the integrity of Ghost dog, Romeo or Kishnabe.
Kishnabe, sorry but given the time difference between yours and Romeo's posts I can only assume the match was well under way.
Ghostdog & Romeo, unless any one actually playing the game objects, then you are both through to Day 2.
Once again JJGUY thanks for your contribution but I hope you appreciate my predicament. Best. Paul

The good thing is we do have sites like flashscore or sports betting sites which list the start time of each match. But that's not how I found out what happened, the reason I knew is yesterday I was a few seconds late to make a final pick on Pavly :( so people who were minutes or hours later than me of course will get on my attention.

One more thing, if you want to make a last minute pick, you better make sure you are watching a "live" tv, the online streaming usually has a few minutes and sometimes more than 5 minutes delay.

Thank you for this. As I wrote I can only go on a posters honesty when it's too tight for me to rule. And I really want to encourage people to play this- the much poorer sister version of the atp sdl.
I wished you had made your pick whilst it was still viable and I would have taken that choice. I hope you play the next wta sdl. Sincerely yours.

Looks like I missed the start, still great that the WTA one is still going. I've got quite a big freetime (most of the time) and happy to help going forward.

If you could that would be great. I can't post attachments (I don't know why and I have asked the mods but received no reply ) and I don't have access to the spreadsheet. Do you think you could gain access to the spreadsheet and update accordingly?
I can post the Order of Play and keep track of who's picked whom and progress. Does this make sense? Cheers
