4-3 win by Pepperdine over Memphis. Very young Pepperdine team, and I think they get more scholarships for next year. Should be more interesting to follow in 2016.

Add Memphis to your 2016 list. They are also a very young team. 4 freshmen, 2 sophomores and 1 senior. They have a good recruiting class coming in as well.

I'm going to attend South Alabama vs UTSA tomorrow. Interested to see some mid-major tennis between two ranked teams. The #1 court will feature two ranked guys.

portland was up a set at line #5 and #6 when they stopped the match.

They have 4 freshmen playing in the lineup. Yesterday both seniors lost their matches against LMU and the freshmen pulled out the 4-3 win

How the heck is A&M CC ranked 40?

@University of Texas at Arlington (#63) 28.6 points
@University Texas at San Antonio (#70) 24.2 points
University of Texas at San Antonio (#70) 22 points
University of South Alabama (#71) 22 points
some teams in the #75 - #85 range 16 points.
some teams in the #75 - #85 range 16 points

Loss to Texas Tech U (#24) 0.5 deduction
Loss to ETSU (must be between #75 - #85) 1.1 deduction
Loss to SMU (#34) 0.7 deduction

128.8 / 8.3 = 15.52

good explanation, but still sounds weird...they ve not beaten anyone better (i think if u not beat anyone in Top40/Top50 you should not be #40. Their coach seems to understand this system very good. They should fall down later in rankings, but will win the Southland Conference anyway.

Agree the explanation is good. Disagree their coach understands the system. He could not have known prior to scheduling the season USA, UTA and UTSA would be ranked and float them to #40 at this point in the season. He's got to know he's living on borrowed time and hoping the formula continues to skew in their favor.

Agee with this. A lot of coaches make the mistake of scheduling teams who were good the previous year. Corpus's schedule is definitely due to much rather than amazing foresight this year. But they should win their conference easily, as long as they stay in the rankings they will get a 3 seed rather than a 4

well the rice loss looks really bad
but lamar is very young and i know a lot of players from their junior times
they are not good enough to threaten the bigger colleges
but could do well in the midlevel i think
lots of european, especially scandinavia.

You can see a definite turn around the last couple of years since Shankles started as coach. I played (was on the team) at Lamar 06-11. I only had Shankles for 1 year, but he immediately upped the ante and there was an immediate culture change.

He seems to be doing a great job at recruiting as well as keeping a positive culture for the players. I agree that they are not good enough to threaten the bigger colleges, but I can certainly see top 50 potential within the next 5 years.

Proud of my alma mater!

Actually, you should be #40 if you have done better than everyone from #41 on down, and those teams have probably not beaten anyone in the top 40, either. Or, if they have, they have bad losses that equalized the win.

University of Oregon has 4 losses and one win over a ranked team. (University of Alabama #61) They are #53 this week on the ranking list.

At least TAMCC has multiple wins over ranked teams.

The season and system is working out well for them. Looking at their schedule I don't see any reason for them not to win out up till their conf. tourney. Good luck to them the rest of the season.

Losses hurt. Clemson has a win over Alabama as well as #25 Texas Tech but also has mutiple losses, including one to unranked (last week) Georgia Tech

SC State has a history of fielding moderately strong teams in the past for a mid-major. Line up often consists of players from former Soviet block countries. Interestingly playing in the #1 spot is former Wisconsin player Rodney Carey.
