Hi,

Here are pics of Novaks 2015 frame. It's obviously identical in specs to his previous frames. Just a new cosmetic.

(Strings aren't his, it was restrung with bab gut and blue Alu power and over grip was changed to head tourna grip).

Enjoy the pics,

Good pics mate.

Just a note, if this is your frame why cut the strings out, the original would be worth some money in the future

He said the strings are overgrip were changed from what Djokovic would've had bur didn't say it was him who did it.

I personally don't use these frames I just string them! but the person who does has quite a few of these frames, (not for sale! [emoji6]) so he changes the strings and grips regularly enough.

There are plenty of threads stating novaks specs. I will post them tomorrow.

I also have photos of a last years frame of Novaks I've partially sanded down revealing the paint below. Tomorrow all will be revealed.

Thanks for that. Save me the time to have to write it out.

Novak usually uses 27kg mains (Gut) and 27.5kg crosses (Alu) but it varies obviously.

Here you can see whats below the leather grip.

As you can see i shaved away a little of the paint and it clearly has the paint of the flexpoint radical "Power In Control" underneath the Graphene IG pj and blue primer.

Why? Anyones guess....

LOL
this is fascinating and frankly quite ridiculous!
why does NOVAK DJOKOVIC needs an old Radical PJ underneath the new Graphene??
why can't it be a black Radical mold underneath???
very weird...

thanks for this. amazing.

You're confused to what a mold is.
The reason why there is FXP Radical cosmetics underneath is because Djokovic's racquets are TwinTube. With the TwinTube process cosmetics are already on the polymide material.

Why? That's a pretty significant lead weight on the handle. If you take off the butt cap you're going to just be disappointed. Having a little silicone in the handle can feel good but filling an entire racquet with one doesn't.

just want to gawk at jokers setup bruh

Very cool posts! Thanks op for dissecting that one.

People forget that at the end of the day these are just racquets. If you have access to more than one of his, then this really isn't a big deal.

As for specs I'd be seriously surprised if it's any different than his old spec. He's been using basically the same thing since before his Wilson days.

I've been setting up an MG radical to be 13.4oz 350sw (some silly balance I haven't measured yet lol) unstrung. The player who's using it is 6'9", and he wants to push what he can use lol.

I've spoken to some people from Head who are responsible for dealing with the player's racquets and I don't know if his specs are different but the racquet is definitely different from the one he used before he switched to Wilson

The frame is different yes, but the specs are very similar or the same. ~370sw 359 grams 32.8 balance. Very minor differences if any at all. Specs make the biggest difference in how a frame plays. Flex is mainly feel, and doesn't make as big of a difference in power as people on here make it out. Stiffer frames actually cause more ball deformation more than anything else.

Besides that, Novak has been quoted as saying his frame at wilson was a replica of what he played with at head, which was endorsed as a LM radical.

Still don't understand. As far as i know, a Head "twintube" racquet is made by 2 layers, inner layer is stiff graphite and outer layer is soft polymide. Why cosmetic must already be on the polymide? Can't it be sprayed later?

From what you've said, my imagination is Novak's racquets are built from old twintube racquets and when those sticks are gone, he'll have to switch to another stick?

First, Wilson can't give Del Potro the K-Factors 95 he desires. Now, Head have to re-paint their old Flexpoint Radical sticks and send to Djokovic. As mysterious as the Salamanca astronaut or the Angkor Wat dinosaur.

Guys, the twintube-frames are made like this:

First they make a normal "roll" of the graphite/kevlar. It means they have many different pre-cut sheets of material thats placed on a plastic roll to form the base of the frame. When the material is placed its rolled up in a machine to a long tube and the interior plastic tube is removed.

The "twin tube" is a sheet of thin plastic that is pre-painted with some old design and this sheet is placed on top of the graphite/kevlar roll. Then it´s all baked togheter in the oven. (My memory is not 100 % accurate,so it could be they first bake the graphite/kevlar roll and then heat and melt the plastic sheet on top of the raw frame. Dont remember unfortunately. Will listen with a friend that also saw this process.

That´s why it looks like some frames have an old PJ. It guess if you sand down 100 of Novak´s frames they will have many different designed Twintube sheets. It has nothing to do with what frame it "used" to be in the past.

They bake it all together.

ok, now i get it..
so the reason for this is because Novak NEEDS a twintube tech in his (REAL) racket of choice, right?

Twintube acts like a sort of dampening to the frame. It´s a very simple technology that really works! I would presume it´s a thing you would really notice if you are used to and then suddenly they remove it

Another big bonus to the TwinTube is that it did not need to be painted so it cut out the painting process making it more cost effective. Just get rid of the flash when the hairpin comes out of the mold and clearcoat the frame and its done. The later Twintube frames they started painting on top of the TwinTube in the shaft.
