What was the last movie you watched?

Semi-Pro
True Lies (1994)
James Cameron directs Arnie as a family man who is a secret agent. I'm an big Arnie fan, but this isn't my favourite of his. Watched it to pass the time, not seen it for ages. Awesome sleazy schlocky cameo by fave of mine Bill Paxton (Tombstone, Aliens, Big Love, Marvel Agents of Shield)

Delightful film.

This little chap (Masahiko Shimazu) was adorable.
Born in 1952, so he's 63 years old now *cry*.

Full of flatulence jokes, so sureshs should love it !

Spotlight (2015) - An 'All The President's Men' of this generation if you will. A little disappointing for me perhaps, was well acted and all that, but just seemed to lack a bit of punch. Still good but could have been a lot better

saw Pawn Sacrifice.....good movie. Actors are much much better looking men than the real life guys though.....very disappointed in that.......

Just saw Eraserhead. Gotta be the weirdest and creepiest movie I've ever seen.

Semi-Pro
Ambushed aka Hard Line (blu-ray)
Crime drama starring Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture & Vinnie Jones in cameo roles. Two main actors are C grade who bumble thru lines of ordinary lines & stupid scenes. Below average.

MrRandom247

Semi-Pro
Die Hard (1988)
Ripper Xmas action flick. Not too dated, really solid entertainment.

Spy (2015)
Very silly & extra crass spy action/comedy. Quite good fun if you are in the rude kind of mood.

I am still in the middle of the 3:21 JFK (Dir cut).

Saw it two year back with my father. Now showing it to mum.
Haven't seen that in years, due for a rewatch

Spring Forward (1999) Another dialogue heavy film like the recent End Of The Tour or My Dinner With Andre. I didn't find it as interesting as either of those,it was still pretty good though...

I just watched The Theory of Everything and thought it was pretty good. Great cinematography throughout and, from most accounts, an accurate telling of his life so far. Nothing really made it excellent, but it was solid.

Before that, I finally watched Blackfish.

Saw Support Your Local Sheriff. Saw it as a kid when it first came out. It was a different kind of movie back then- didn't take itself seriously- mocked the genre, droll. Best part was putting the guy in a jail that had no bars.

Sounds like Otis on the Andy Griffith Show.

Terms of Endearment. Wow, what a strange movie. In a way, it's like the Seinfeld of dramas. A movie about 'nothing', as in normal life. Nothing extraordinary happens. And yet it works.

The Revenant - 2015. Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu. Di Caprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter.

The story somehow did not hold my interest. I read that a lot of the scenes were real, no CGI. DiCap was afraid of getting hypothermia at one point. Won't reveal other things that were real for fear of spoiling.

Did you watch in a cinema or at home? I heard the cinematography is quite spectacular,I might go and see it next week.

Hitch-Hike (1977). Solid thriller

Saw at home from a screener. It hasn't been released yet.
Yes, the cinematography was very good.

I watched 'Witness for the Prosecution' again last night. Great courtroom drama with an ending that still gives me goosebumps every time.

I just watched Eat and Run (1987) last night. An alien comes to earth and develops a taste for Italian food and starts to eat everyone in Little Italy. Classic stuff!

Saw "Jurassic World" the other day. Just a remake of the previous 2 or 3, except this one with a dinosaur with Jedi like powers. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars tops.

Bobby Jr

G.O.A.T.
I watched Jersey Boys in the last week. I had missed seeing the live stage-show of it a while back but the movie is great imo... A cool insight into Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' background and struggles.

Seen an hour an a half of Trumbo (2015). Bryan Cranston.

Very interesting. Biographical movie set in the 1940's, a screen writer Daniel Trumbo who wrote the screenplay of Roman Holiday and others. Also, parts of the life of the famous actor Edward G Robinson.

Admit it, the only way you watched it is because of Bryan Cranston, yes? On The other hand I know you like movies from bygone years.

My nephew was here. I suggested we watch The Big Short. Then he mentioned Trumbo.
I agreed but said I can't find any subtitles, but he was adamant since he wishes to be a writer. So we started it ... the fact the it had Cranston certainly helped.

I will be rooting for him to win the GG and/or AA. Although, lemme see the other movies before I decide.
I was reading up on Edward G Robinson and had no idea he had a pretty tough life, escaping persecution in Romania in 1903. He was anti-Na__zi and anti-Fascist but had a bad time during the anti-Commie days in the 40's. it affected his career adversely.

btw, we were discussing The Revenant, and I sort of remember several parallels with Aguirre the Wrath of God. The voyage through jungles, the fights with the natives, etc.

The oldest movie I've ever seen probably must've been The Hiding Place [1975].

Les Revenants [tv series] is quite good. Leo and Tom Hardy's The Revenant is on my next to do list.
