Prince ESP frames are easy to custom. I add .25 up to .50 in length and leather and lead for some players and they love them.

I used to customize and play with the PD 107
Customized to 28 inches and added foam . Got it to 12 oz strung. The added length and weight made it feel more flexible and had great leverage and plow through.
I later did this to Aero Pros + and made them 27.75.
Last year used Steam105 with added weight in handle . 11.8 ounces.
Will be using ultra 97 this year. No telling what I will do with them :)

Man, everyone has their racquets. It sounds like the Radical MPs (pre Graphene) is the best bet. The MG Radicals didn't seem very good at all to me (of course, I think I got one of the later releases - from Acad&my Sports) even leaded up. I'm probably gonna look at maybe a YT Radical or IG Radical MP. I might try to find a Liquidmetal one.

If you're looking for the ideal racquet at 300g, you might look at the Tecnifibre TFight 300.

It's been LM Rad MP for me. The Graphene Rad Rev is a fascinating option I think. Anyone modded one o those?

LM Rad here too. Isn't this the racket Djokovich uses under the paint. Heavily customised of course.
No. The only common thing that the guy you misspelled last name uses is the mold, without ridges. However, the same mold is used for iRadical and TiRadical. The layup is very different, and of course, customization on top.

Platform racquets are most commonly "player frames" upon fulfilling the intended customizations. Therefore, modern player frames typically fall between 95-100 sq. inch headsizes. If we opened up the "platform racquet" consideration to oversized frames, the idea would become too watered down. Also, midsize frames are too heavy to be considered platforms. I speak..
Oversized frames are some of the best platform frames in my opinion. There is so much room to work with weight wise and if properly customized will work for any player and any level. As I said earlier I customized and used the PD 107 and made it play pro stock quality. I played on tour from 1989-1994 and have been customizing frames for professionals throughout the last 25 years.

See my post (#50). I have done it. I also created a Radical Rev thread some time ago.
I did to my daughter. She used PD 2013 before, the one with 308SW. The two Graphene Revs have 334SW. So I added 35g in the handle to bring it to 295g. So now she is playing with a stick 295g, 32.5cm balance and SW334. Not necessarily easy specs to find stock. The racket itself plays nice. It has more flex than Rad Pro. It is obviously very polarized but what else would you expect from light racket with high SW and decent balance.

If your going to get a Radical Rev and mod it past the specs of the Radical MP, wouldn't it make more sense to start with a MP? It's also quite light stock, although not as much so.

How do you spell it then? If you check I think I spelled it correctly. Anyhow, thanks for the info re the mold, I stand corrected on that one.

You spell it Đoković lol...perhaps he meant it should be spelled Djokovic, but all the same anyway...

But neither one is correct, all is just an American way to spell it...also, if you can replace Đ with Dj, how come you cannot replace ć with ch? It's just following the same logic. Or if you miss out diacritics just, he should have been spelled Dokovic (almost as Dokic, lol).

The only reason to start with the Rev Pro is because it has a lower flex by a couple of points and it also feels noticeble softer then the MP and Pro

These rackets have one big difference - the SwingWeight. MP has 320 and Rev 334 (mine at last). So Rev is more like a pro stock that it is extremely light hairpin with already good swing weight. This leaves obviously tremendous room for customizing. See the specs I did for my daughter in previous post. You just could not reach that with MP.

Well, according to The Times, the anglicised spelling is how I spelt it (without the h) Sorry, I don't speak Serbian! Blimy, some people are pedantic round here.

Believe it or not, "Dj" is allowed to replace "Đ" in Serbian.

Yes, only when typing, not when handwriting. It came from the old days before the computers, when old mechanical typewriters didn't have enough keys for all of the Serbo/Croatian letters, so Đ had to be typed as DJ.

What I find useful in situation like this, and worth trying first: just remove leather grip, then add 4-6 grams of blue tac (or lead) near the butt.
For some reason this makes swinging much easier, visibly less inert.

Edit: I've found on this board many advices about using leather grip to add mass to the handle, however, I find that in many situations, when dealing with heavier setups, it simply doesn't work near as good as when you add the same mass (difference) near the butt. And in fact you can get away with less mass (if near the butt) and better feel, whippier stick which feels lighter in comparison...anyway I recommend some experimenting and seeing for yourself.

I find the same. 6g or so in the trap door works better than weight all over the handle. The problem with Head racquets being they rarely have trap doors which is the case with the LM Rad.

What is the SW of the 28" PD? I'm thinking of doing the same to one. I extended a PD Lite to 28.5" and I'm surprised at how playable it is at 355-360 SW :)

TW has some light Yonexes on sale with SWs of about 300-305; they look like good customization platforms.

Lead tape under the grip solves this, when you don't want to remove staples and re-staple. I used on 2-3 layers of 1/2'' lead tape near the butt, in two rows of round wraps. I don't feel any discomfort when I put grip & overgrip over that, in fact, I don't feel lead beneath at all.

For me

For me it was the cap that was the bridge too far - no need to add weight in a bat that is already this head heavy and 330 SW. Let us know how the new set up plays please.

My mods don't end up being better, just more sluggish and heavier, but I had good results with the Yonex SI 98 Lite and the Tecnifibre TFight 315 TP ATP version.

Will do! Have a practice tomorrow. Will keep you updated.

It was a devil-challenge to get so much silicone inside the handle though. Tried a new technique (for me) and the same they does at Head. Drill a hole in the buttcap and inject. It kept pouting out of that hole when i had pushed all 50 grams of silicone into it so i had to secure it with a screw :) Will remove it tonight and hope it have harden enough to stay in there

This is nitpicking, and you know it. c != ć either.

What's best (worst), with today's technology, there should be no problem to use correct letters such as Đ or ć in media or tv graphics. Unicode is nothing really new.

If you can use Germanic letters like Ö, why should be a problem to use Slavic ones as well?

I agree. Did they use Germanic letters also? how do they spell Julia's last name? Never seen Zimonjic for example spelled Zimonjich... Raonich?
I am picky here because I live in the states for the last 25 years and (I and everyone) spell my last name as ....IC.

Have done this too but it's easier with a trap door and blu tac as it can be removed at will. Might have to resort to lead tape at the base of the grip. Also gives a little flare to the butt cap which I like.

I feel your pain. My Surname is a Polish sounding name which is actually a corruption of a French name. It's unique in the UK and no one knows how to say it, let alone spell it so I have to say it and then spell it immediately after.

Ć = ch kind if equals phonetically, but can not be typed like that. The convention is to replace it with plain c and is what former Yugoslavs do. Only the 2nd generation abroad would sometimes anglicize the family name to end with ch.

I didn't check the SW, just made sure all were the same weight and balance. From experience they were probably 340-345.

Any Radical beyond 2000 (before that they were nearly perfect as is for me, then got too light), and Dunlop 300 series come to mind.

Just another potential platform racquet that springs to mind. The Wilson Burn 100 Team.

285g/290SW, 60 flex. Seems like a decent option in the 100sq head range.

Honestly, never even looked at the Radical Rev, but the specs make it enticing. the SW is a little high stock, but I'm seriously considering getting a pair to try this on.

Ok guys, I tried the modified Graphene Rev Pro this evening. Strung at 50 lbs with Sonic Pro 1,25mm.

It took a couple of minutes to get into the groove with it I have to say. Felt a little little bit unstable and to much flex in the upper part of the frame. Kind of the same feel as I had with the Yonex Ai98. But more and more into the practice-match I felt more connected with the frame, Hitting more and more into the sweetspot and it felt very nice for a good 30 minutes of play. Then the strings started to loosen up and I also started to be a little bit tired after a long day at work so some balls sailed long.

It did not have the same power as the MP or Pro version. Not so solid on mishits and its a pretty challenging frame to use. It feels like you can not be a lazy player with this frame. Much softer for the arm though. Not at all so hollow and stiff in the feel as the MP and Pro but that is no wonder with a "double D-load" of silicone inside the handle :)

I will restring it with Head Hawk Touch tomorrow and take out for another spin on wednesday. I also noticed that TW Europe had them at Sale and also another 20 % of sale so i bought one more.

Hank, can you describe a bit your modification of Graphene Rev Pro? I see that you injected 50 g (!) of silicone in handle...anything else?

First I installed CAP grommets and leather grip to get it to 315 grams but that left the balance at almost 33 cm and it felt way way way to heavy and sluggish. Removed everything and installed TK82S grommets, Head hydrosorb pro grip and then in with 50 grams silicone. Now it is 314,7 grams and 31,3 cm balance. Will maybe add a 2-3 grams lead at 10 and 2 to make it a little bit more solid at hits high up in the stringbed.

An advice if you dont want to add so much silicone is to buy one gripsize smaller and add a heat shrink sleeve. That adds about 15 and in some cases up to 20 grams of weight.
