I'm not in the U.S Michael, but exactly the same type of things are happening here (in Newfoundland Canada in case you're interested). Preventative measures are being taken to limit large crowds and the like, but there are many people hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer and not leaving enough for everybody.

Also, my mom is a nurse and my dad is a painter. I work serving the public for government so I haven't heard anything about shut downs for my work and my mom's work will never get shutdown. I still wish the govt would limit travel more. We just had our supposed first case here a few days ago of a person who went on a Caribbean Cruise (now in self isolation).

And I can't just brush off work until I actually test positive or they close so I'm trying to live as normally as possible. I understand Spin's comment though. Some people here are cancelling trips and whatever else they have to do, but other people I know (mostly young people tbh) are treating this too lightly. If I ever do get it I just hope it's mild and I don't spread it.
RIP Prestige XL - I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have served with such sweaty hands :-( HELP ME I NEED ANOTHER >_<

Small question: looking to try gut/gut hybrids (most likely with Max Power in the crosses). Is 50€ for three sets of 12 metres of Tonic+ Longevity (1.35) a good deal?
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
3 for 50 is a great deal, you'd normally be just under that for 2 sets IIRC

Hi SpinToWin, I would like to try for first time gut/poly on my ps 97S. I have Tonic+ 16 and looking for a poly. Would you be so kind to recommend me cross string? What gauge for this open pattern? Currently I am using UC at 23/22. Thank you in advance. Your reviews and knowledge are highly appreciated.
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
I'd definitely go 16 gauge for the crosses. The exact string depends on your personal preferences. I myself probably would go for Max Power.

Thank you for your help and time. Get well soon.

    How's the recovery going?

Was on court for the first time yesterday, but clearly still need time to recover. Had completely torn the exterior ligament, along with smaller tears of the outer and inner ligament, so lots of damage was done ^^'

The more I read it the more it sounds like intellectual masturbation to me. Criticism for the sake of sounding smart (and getting a position in philosophy).
Played a handful of times this winter and I'll be playing a tournament tomorrow... At least I'll finally see what Playsight is all about tho
Hi STW, I have been away from the forum for a while and did not have the change to read your feedback about the new PS97s. What is your opinion about the frame and how does it compare to the old one? Many thanks. If you already left a review somewhere in the forum, please send me the link as I could not find it. Best
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
Unfortunately I have not tried the new one yet.... I am sure PeterFig could help you in comparing the two, as could a few others. There is a thread in particular that speaks about the new frame, if you can't find it let me know and I'll search for it and send a link

When I think of tennis I think of the professional sport as a whole, and thus the structures and policies that form it are my focus. I see huge systemic problems in this area which IMO are bound to result in continuing problems.

That's probably true. Many things are going on under the table we aren't aware of. I was under the assumption that you were talking about the competition.

No I can't, HR has the last say in this. Playing tennis is good I guess, but it ain't the season where I can earn money by giving training and some working experience in an office environment is necessary really... Will have to end up looking for something near where I live and do my obligatory internship abroad another time...
Got an internship in Paris it seems, likely from the start of January to the end of March! Lemme know if you're in the area and up for a hit

Well... It really isn't that hard actually. Definitely somewhat slower, but faster and with a lower bounce than clay, though slightly cushioned and somewhat sticky. I couldn't legitimately slide, only short skids really worked. It was harder on the knees than clay, though less hard than carpet. I quite liked it really and found it to be a fast adjustment.

Ouch, better to get em all out at once... At least your swingweight will go down, so in case you need to headbutt someone in a German pub, it will be quicker.. You will lose some plow though :p one tooth = 10 sw points? :p

Congrats! Not sure how things work in Europe but do you have something equivalent to national USTA tournaments in Germany?

Not really... It's quite different. National tournaments here involve guys way better than me (playing Bundesliga, so essentially pros).

Always been interested in Greek philosophy in particular. I'm not sure I'll be able to contribute that much (was Engineering major at uni and Health at grad school) but would love to read different views/opinions.

Greek philosophy is particularly interesting for moral questions and concerns of human interaction. Many texts were written trying to pin down what is good in respect to a human and how this state can be achieved. Essentially, if an exploration of human nature is what interests you, this is a very fitting starting point :)
