    My UTR, what's yours?

I just looked into getting a UTR and am oddly excited about posting recent and future matches! I'm playing in a non-USTA or other recognized league for UTR and I have to manually post each result, which then has to be verified by my opponent. I get why they don't want people posting unverified...

2020 Roland Garros - WTA General Discussion

Not to distract, but I've got to say that Trevisan's face after she defeated Bertens was one of the few genuinely happy and beautiful faces I've seen this whole tournament.

Papa Kenin even impacted the Ferro match. I’m actually a bit surprised the umpires or supervisors tolerate that stuff as much as they do.

2020 Roland Garros - WTA General Discussion

I know the quality of this match is amazing, but I can’t help but rename this match to the All-American Suburban Championship. If there’s a third set, I’m totally expecting tons of passive aggressive looks, complaints, and crocodile tears. I hope I’m wrong though.

Two hander vs one hander for new player.

i understand your points here. However I think the thread is speaking more to the use of the 1HBH and 2HBH in regular groundstroke situations, not as solely a defensive situation as you’ve stated. I’d agree with you that a 1HBH provides more options in defensive/return situations.

Two hander vs one hander for new player.

I have to agree with you here. I'm hitting a OHBH right now and it feels very loose and free. However, footwork and positioning is key if you want to get the most out of it. Not to mention it just feels amazing when you rip a perfect shot with it. The margin for error is way smaller than a THBH...

Your least favourite shot to play and why?

Two handed backhand, that's why I just use one!

The feet stay quick, but the positioning is definitely a new skill to learn. On the speed front, it is ridiculously fun to surprise people by hunting down drop shots that would otherwise be surefire points.:)

I suppose I'm just speaking more as a lifelong competitive athlete that wants to succeed at a new sport. Oh well.

Yeah it does! It's rare that anyone will get exactly what they want. I'd say that being successful (in any sport) is being able to adapt.

Played my 1st league match yesterday 4.0-4.5

I'd say if you're getting opponents that are dinking the ball over, that should give you ample opportunity to practice putting away points. That way, when you're playing your long, fast rallies later on, you know how to capitalize on a mishit or mistake. Same thing happened to me on my first...

Are Tennis players the most odd and fussy athelets

I've heard this a lot from my opponents in my 3.0-3.5 leagues (7-1 combined record this season) that I've played in so far. They ask me how long I've been playing and when I say 4-5 months, they don't believe me. I played soccer most of my life (or other form of athletics) at a reasonably high...
