UPDATE: So... loosening the dog was, in fact, the answer. I had screwed it the wrong way and was testing it without a racket holder in place. Needless to say JC at TennisMachines is a patient human and I would recommend contacting him for anything. He was very forthright in getting me to test...

So I messed with it last night, and I believe it could be the spring that's gone bad? Could this be accurate? I took it apart as far as I was willing out of fear I would make ruin it and not be able to string my rackets haha.

Thanks all for your help! I think this is probably the biggest issue, because when I push the lever down the pressure isn't as tight as it is on the other side. Thanks, I will try this!
