LeeD: what level of play is this?

Good plan, LeeD! I will check in from time to time! :)

LeeD: what level of play is this?

Hey LeeD, yes, I live in San Jose. I will have to try to make it on a weekend, since I have to work my rear end off during weekdays. What would be a good time to show up on a Saturday or Sunday? I will have to schedule it on a day when I don't have a tennis (or other) commitment.

Sureshs, I am really sorry if I came across as insulting you. I apologize. You have to understand - I had a completely different mental image of you, just reading your posts. The difference is just too stark. I will stick to my lurking ways, for the most part anyway!

LeeD: what level of play is this?

Believe what you will, sureshs. Whatever makes you happy. I am beyond arguing about tennis stuff, especially technical stuff that I don't have the competence to evaluate. Seriously. Lose the anger. Have more fun! :)

LeeD: what level of play is this?

LeeD may talk more than most of us :), but I am sure he knows his stuff (as his technical posts indicate), and I strongly believe he was a superior athlete in his prime! IMO his lefty serve, with the slices and twists typical of lefties, will definitely be formidable (if he practices regularly)...

LeeD: what level of play is this?

It's okay, sureshs. I hold no ill will. Actually, I find the whole thing extremely humorous! :) The only person I blame for any bad feelings I may have had in the past is myself. And I don't even log into TT any more - maybe once in a few weeks or even months - because everything that can be...

LeeD: what level of play is this?

Well, I expected to see at least a 4.0 level player, considering the conviction his posts carried, and what seemed like passion on his part. The gusto and venom with which he attacked OW gave me the impression that he had some physical insight into strokes, even though I also thought a lot of...

LeeD: what level of play is this?

That's... that's... sureshs?!? <eyes popping with disbelief> Shame on - ME! All the time spent and reams of pages written arguing about technical stuff for the last many years (or so it seems), wasted psychic energy, taking all the OW and other bashing seriously, losing sleep and temper -...

4.5/5.0 level first serve spin vs flat

There's enough in these threads to write a biography of LeeD. I propose that it be titled "The Unbearable Lightness of GOAThood." :) (Just joking, LeeD! You're a good guy!)

    Heavy Topsin!

IMO, Kevin's advice is right on the money.

    fundamental stroke technique items

Why exactly does the ATP style of keeping the racquet on the hitting side work better than the WTA way? I mean, what are the bio-mechanical reasons? Would this classify as a fundamental since it appears to be more than just an idiosyncracy, and almost all the ATP guys do this.

    My Hitting Video-Advice Welcome

Hey arche3, IMO Oscar sees things very well... see this video where he's talking about the forehand, around 2:05: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxUPDHegz98&t=2m5s The "up and across" happens pretty close to contact. The swing doesn't have to be steep... it can be close to horizontal. Also...
