Better on clay: Muster or Bruguera?

Not 100% sure that Muster had this fear factor of near invincibility. Sure, his stats in 95/96 were impressive but it is not that he cruised through his opponents like Nadal. He was at the brink of defeat several times and even had to defend match points on more than one occasion. His...

DOES TENNIS NEED BIG RULE CHANGES?

People here advocating for banning second serves are talking as if the big servers Isner, Karlovic etc. were ruling the tennis world and winning slam after slam. None of them has ever won a slam nor was one of them ever ranked in the top five. Please let’s not get carried away and pretend that...

Nadal can still easily surpass/match Federer's Slam count

how does this make sense? It is like saying my opponent in my local club tournament does not only have to beat me but have the beat me decisively to proceed to the next round. I cannot imagine many people other than Fed fans arguing about WTF, weeks at No.1 etc.In your scenario Nadal would have...

4/8 M1000s won by Big 3 this year. A change of guard?

Still have won 4/4 slams so what exactly has changed? As OP perfectly shows, it was the same in 2017 and 2018 and nothing happened on the slam level where it really counts.

Medvedev will be world #1 in 2020

The only one of the young players I really have hope in. Will be number 1 sooner or later, whether already in 2020 time will tell.

Tall, powerful and fast. The next step in the evolution of tennis!

Medvedev has a great run and I like his game. Good to see that at least one young gun is stepping up. Anyways, it is too early to predict what he can achieve. As I said, no player his height has ever reached 4+ slams, so I would be surprised if he did. Sure he will win slams per default because...

Tall, powerful and fast. The next step in the evolution of tennis!

There were many big players in former eras some of them also with good movement. None of them (player > 1.90) ever reached ATG level. Beside other weaknesses they are always prone to injuries. I would be really surprised if we saw a double digit slam winner of the height of Zverev in the...

Tall, powerful and fast. The next step in the evolution of tennis!

Zverev hasn’t done **** in slams up until now and out of a sudden he is a perfect mix of Karlovic and Djokovic. To be realistic here he does not move as good as Djokovic not even close. Apart from this his serve is very weak for a player his height. Shanghai means literally nothing, I will only...

    New BIG 4 Confirmed ?

I genuinely don’t care who you hate or what you do with your time. Was just meant as a good advice. Anyways, you are destroying any good discussion here with your unqualified posts. The topic of this thread are Zverev, Tsitsipas, Berrettini etc. why the hell do you bring Nadal into it?

    New BIG 4 Confirmed ?

Even in a post trying to convince others that your life does not revolve around hating Nadal you cannot help but making a dumbass remark about Nadals US Open draw. Hilarious dude, just proved me right. Could laugh if it wasn’t actually sad.

    New BIG 4 Confirmed ?

Nothing is working, you are making a complete fool of yourself by constantly exposing that a guy who couldn’t care less about you and does not know you exist controls your whole life. Give it a rest, Nadal won’t stop winning slams because you are whining in an Internet forum. He will keep on...

    New BIG 4 Confirmed ?

We had such Situation already a lot of times. Big three do not care about masters these days, did not prevent them from winning the last 12 slams while your new big four haven’t even one between them.

Sorry but it blows my mind that Federer's Win/Loss % from 2011 to 2019 is higher than Sampras from 1992-2000

Federer would not reach him so often on clay either, the 90s were a different time. I agree Nadal wouldn’t reach him often at Wimbledon, but in the end who knows. Without his success off clay it could happen that Nadal wouldn’t be ranked as high as he is today and meet Federer already in some...

Sorry but it blows my mind that Federer's Win/Loss % from 2011 to 2019 is higher than Sampras from 1992-2000

Also have to admit that Nadal benefitted from the circumstances of mainly slow courts. In the 90s with old Wimbledon grass, fast US Open courts and lot of carpet around he would have found difficulties to even reach Federer. I think the H2H would have been way more even.

Sorry but it blows my mind that Federer's Win/Loss % from 2011 to 2019 is higher than Sampras from 1992-2000

I agree. I was just responding to the poster who insinuated that Feds negative combined H2H was only due to age. In reality, if we break it down, the only one who really posed problems to Federer is Nadal. With Djokovic their rivalry follows the general path in rivalries between ATGs, with the...
