Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

Thank you for all of the suggestions everyone. I demo’d the speed pro and whilst I thought it was a very forgiving frame and excellent from the base liner, it didn’t have the knife like feel through the air that I crave from a thin beam. The poll and comments suggest trying the Head Gravity...

Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

Thanks for your recommendation, I'll check it out. Would you ever recommend the Vcore Pro 97 HD? I hear it's very stable but also quite demanding and what I'm trying to move away from.

Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

Fair point! In practice and my technique overall is that of a 5.0 and it’s what people at my club feel I am. Unfortunately, I’m lacking a lot of recent match practice so I naturally play a bit more tense and so I drop down to a 4.5 sort of level during league matches and tournaments in singles...

What stand out features made you go with that selection? I’ve demod one myself

Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

So I’m a big serve + 1 player and often hit out with aggression looking to find opportunities to dictate points and stay on the front foot. My weapons are forehand and serve, weaknesses are defensive play and volleying. I generally drive my shots through the course with a kicking topspin...

Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

Did you add a leather grip to make it more HL? My only reservation with this frame is the balance and how that might play for my OHBH

Best suited racket for Advanced (4.5-5.0) aggressive baseline player

I come from a history of highly demanding frames (Angells, Wilson RF97 etc.) so the gravity pro would simply be a continuation of that. Got a demo of the speed pro so I’m hoping that’s a bit more forgiving. Only reservation is regarding the serve power from what I’ve seen on reviews but won’t...

Which Vcore pro are you using? Seems like the 97D would be right up my street too

    The Official Angell Users Club

Can anyone recommend any poly strings for the TC97 18x20. I typically string in less than 50 lbs mains and cross. Seems that these are some of the fan favorites that I'd like to try: - Tier One Black Knight - RS Lyon - Hyper G - MSV Focus Hex - MSV Co-Focus - Kirschbaum Max Power Currently...

Recommended Racket for Aggressive Baseliner (Advanced)

I generate all the power myself typically, especially on the forehand and serve.

Recommended Racket for Aggressive Baseliner (Advanced)

Not too bad, definitely a weaker shot compared with the topspin but that's what the frame has been designed for. As long as my technique is good (high staring position and guiding follow through etc.) then the result is as good as my angells.

Recommended Racket for Aggressive Baseliner (Advanced)

Thank you for the recommendations everyone. I went ahead and bought a Babolat Pure Aero VS and made it closer to me specs by adding 3g lead at 12 and a leather grip. What a difference it made, completely different racket and a huge improvement in all departments. Hopefully my arm lasts playing...

Recommended Racket for Aggressive Baseliner (Advanced)

Hi guys, thanks for all the great feedback - appreciate it. A lot of responses share similar rackets which I’m going to demo over the coming months: Wilson Blade 18x20 Yonex Vcore 95 and Pro Head Speed Pro 360+ Babolat Pure Aero VS Head Gravity Pro/Tour I bought a second hand Pure Aero...
