Djokovic closing in on Federer's big titles record

You’re all so desperate to justify in numbers your favourite. If tennis is just numbers it becomes pretty boring. Come on, if you ask pretty much any tennis player who they would like to be able to play like, they are not choosing a grinder like Djokovic or Nadal. Maybe the kids might like...

The greatest players of all time use 1h backhands

Time to put this to bed; Over the last 20 years the 1 handed backhand has all but disappeared from top level junior tennis. I think we can all agree on that. Only the most talented and dedicated juniors ever move to the professional ranks. I think we can all agree on that. Only the most...

How does Feds legacy look ( RG related )....

So Rafa’s achievements on clay mean nothing because he never played and beat himself in the final???

Will Serena join Federer as the record holder for the most Grand Slams titles in their sport?

I think that if you review the thread title you may find that making finals and not winning does not help Serena much.

Will Serena join Federer as the record holder for the most Grand Slams titles in their sport?

I don’t think so. Her movement looks laboured these days. You can’t beat a reasonably good player moving as she has in her 2018 onward performances.

    French Open will decide GOAT

Huh. So if Fed wins a slam without facing Nadal that is Fed’s fault? He beat the guy who beat Nadal, or more often he will have beaten the guy who beat the guy who beat the guy who beat Nadal. Using Nadal’s early round losses as a stick to beat Federer with will never wash with sane poasters

If slams went BO3, what would you do?

Instead of playing or watching tennis, I would dedicate my time to explaining the difference between your and you’re on interweb forums.

Could Nadal return serve on your local court?

Well indeed. Question should read; How many times would your serve bounce before it reached Nadal.

    Federer/Tsitsipas career trajectory update!

I think you’re comparing Tsitsipas now with Fed now. It’s highly likely you are right, but that’s a prediction not a fact.

Where would tennis be if Federer never existed?

Bit of a repeat of my earlier post but Fed raised the bar. It happens in athletics as well. Before roger bannister running a sub 4 min mile was considered impossible. The current mile record is 3:43.12. Serves got big before Fed’s time but his all court play was a level up from anything that...

Where would tennis be if Federer never existed?

Neither Nadal or Djokovic would be as good as they are now. Lower level to strive for.

A.Zverev is the modern version of Andy Murray

I don’t think he could be more different.

What considerations should Federer's style have on his GOAT status?

Nadal and Djokovic are so impressive. The way the run back and forth getting everything back, no matter how good and attacking the opponent. Short of building a wall at the net and having other players hit against it I don’t see how tennis could get any more exciting.

Swing weight: the biggest gap between Next Gen and old guard

I would have thought that if high swing weight was proven as successful the trend amongst pro players would be upward rather than downward. Players are getting bigger and stronger but are not playing with a 900gm swing weight racquet?
