Played the DR98 & actually moved to TC97 straight after. TC97 hits bigger in every department for me, swings faster with much slimmer beam. I suppose it depends on your style of play, I keep RHS high.

Good review that, I’ve not played the 101 but With over 4 years playing with the TC97 & having experience with the TC100 I’d agree on many points, especially the higher launch angle & use of spin to control the TC100.

If you play a good level the first thing you will notice is that the frame Lacks plow & stability against heavy shots. It Needs weight to rectify this. I still have one stock that I use for feeding & a bit of social tennis, incredible touch & scalpel like at the net.

Origin in crosses with a poly works great in TC97’s, using it at the moment with some black knight i’d got plays great, also have periodic arm problems caused by full bed poly & experimenting with different string too often rather than sticking with what works!

    Is hyper g best poly

You sure it’s lynx edge? Only do it in blue 17g. Crazy kick on serves. Only tried hyper g once just didn’t like it one bit.

    Is hyper g best poly

Head lynx edge worth a try, power control and action on ball were a big plus, unfortunately still A little too stiff for me.

    Is hyper g best poly

Hated it when I tried it a few years back, cut it out after 10 minutes. Too stiff for me. I prefer softer poly’s such as scorpion or black knight.

Yes I think this is why there’s quite a few who would like a TC98, with narrower beam to the TC100 & slightly more closed 16x19 pattern. Personally I’d of preferred to keep the beam narrower on the TC100 with an 18x20 option too.

As I mentioned earlier the SW on 63RA used to be higher with most of the V2 frames. When Paul bought out the V3 he made sure the SW issues were Ironed out, I guess some customers wondered why their 300g frame seemed hard to swing! Many others enjoyed picking a high SW frame. Found the TC100’s to...

No SW difference Between the 70RA & 63RA In the current V3’s. V2’s there could be a large difference in SW’s.

Octane paint is thicker add’s approx 3SW. So I agree still around 325-330. My octane tc97 came in at 309g unstrung 325g strung with origin crosses 17g & Black knight mains 17g. (I think the string combination weighs less than some of my other set ups)

Yeh same here I’m 49 & played the TC97 16x19 for 4 years. 310g unstrung & 326-330g depending on strings. Racquet is solid At those specs, no weight needed & can keep RHS fast.

Have an octane TC97 With grey PU grip, it’s almost too pretty to play with, it’s a work of art.

Been playing the Tc97 16x19 for 4 years now. Frame is not string sensitive, so worth trying what you have used before. I’ve used the following & all play great. Weiss cannon scorpion Tier 1 black night Head lynx edge (stiffer than the other 2 polys, but great bite on ball. Also TC97 plays great...
