  • Hi, I am a high school student and wanted to research how the height of a tennis player affects his serve for a maths project. I need a simulation for this, and the only one I came across was your "practical simulation of a tennis serve trajectory". The simulation is not up anymore and I don't know how well it would work, but it would be of great help if you could post it again. Thank you!

Just do some trigonometry to find out how much more angle a taller server has versus a shorter server to hit into

Use projectile motion formulas (at first, leave out air drag, later if you can handle it, include them but they will not have closed form solutions with air drag).

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I know what to do with the vertical components, but I'm still not sure how to calculate the horizontal movement of the ball since one of my ideas was to see how accurate each height's serve was
    Hello,
I read with interest the exchange you had a couple of years ago with a Babolat RDC owner. It seems the conversation stopped once you disclosed you were attempting to build your own machine. What was the outcome of that? There seemed that a picture was posted that we cannot longer see. Was it a deflection-RDC table? Thank you!

hmm, what thread/post are you referring to? Could you refresh my memory?

oh, I remember now. My conversation with that other poster did not really end - we've just continued via PM, he was very nice and had no problems with me trying to replicate the machine. I have to re-check those old messages but I believe yes, that missing picture showed a graph of deflection (in mm) vs what the stiffness value showed by RDC was.
I'm interested in trading for T1 Triumph. I have Wilson Champions choice and Wilson Gut.

Let me know if you are still looking.
