    Visiting California 02/21-02/25

Thank you too. Maddog1 is pretty solid player, and a nice dude too. I do have to question his assessment of not being able to hit against pace. No idea how he can tell since there was no pace or spin whatsoever on our shots, at least not per lofty TTW standards. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G950U...

Ok, can we talk about what a poor event the Indoors was....

I had a blast. But - I was there, no need to watch the streams...... They probably never anticipated the number of people logging in to watch, so the infrastructure was not in place. The cameras themselves are fine - standard playsight thingy. They are likely going to add cameras on all...

    Stanford Men

Well, to be fair, my argument is that if they are highly ranked recruits how come almost no one even tries to make it as a pro? I agree that this current team has talent at #1, #2, and possibly at #5 - but the rest of the team I'm not so sure about. I mean they are not bad, definitely top-15...

Measuring SW (and / or TW)

I find it fascinating that Irvin argues about all-things-swingweight now while a mere few years ago he was stating It is possible to add weight and lower the swingweight.

    Ohio State Tennis

You have answered your own question. Stanford players have not been that good, plain and simple. Since like 2010 there have been maybe 3 players total from Stanford that even tried to go pro (Bradley Klahn, Alex Clayton, and Tom Fawcett now) and neither really made it yet. The team comprises...

College Dual Match Format Is The Greatest Thing Ever Invented

I almost completely agree with your arguments. Which is why I also stated "The thing is made for spectators. I'm less sure about player development benefits ". I can certainly see that for some players, especially the ones that have a shot at pro, the format is less than ideal. But public...

College Dual Match Format Is The Greatest Thing Ever Invented

I attend as many college tennis matches as I can. I just spent three days at the ITA Indoor Championships. And I say that whoever came up with the idea of College Dual Tennis Match was/is a genius. There's nothing not to like. The entire thing start to finish takes 2-2.30 hrs. Perfect...

    Stanford Men

I would have to disagree. They actually do not have _that_ much of talent on the team compared to other top college teams. They are undersized, holding a serve is a struggle for anyone but Axel and Alex. Sameer gets the job done by brain alone, and volleying skills, I have no idea how he...

Someone from this forum should go play Essential Tennis guys

I'm neither Ian nor Kevin. I'm out this weekend but I'll be back next Tuesday. I thought you perhaps wanted to warm up before your big match.

Since you are from Chicago I can make it even easier for you. No need to drive to Milwaukee. Do you have time today/tomorrow/Wednesday in the evening?

    2019 Men's National Indoors

now ranking wise - was it better to win first round and lose the next two matches (USC, UCLA) or lose the first and win the next two (Stanford)?

    2019 Men's National Indoors

so even the trophy presentation is on non-streamed courts?? Great job - NOT. Such a shame. It was a very well run event, at a nice location.

    2019 Men's National Indoors

yes, clearly he is an exceptional player. Still I'm not convinced. You will have hard time winning on teh next level by hitting hard. Maybe I'm blinded by his relative 'shortness'. I do agree though that he rarely misses, and because of his speed he is always in position to hit the ball.
