    WTA vs ATP groundstroke speed..

Thank you. This didn't take long at all. Probably an hour total. I just wanted to play with the equations and statistics on Excel to familiarize myself before I use it for small projects. It made me feel good too to somewhat quantify the speed traveled by the ball across the court between men...

    WTA vs ATP groundstroke speed..

I know I'm just reviving a super old thread, but I did try to compare the average time per groundstroke for men and women. I haven't been able to find data using google so I thought I might as well share it. Methods 1. I looked at highlight reels of men's (Fed vs. Wawrinka, London 2014...

How Does Roddick Feel Right Now?

Yeah I don't think you should bash on Roddick's success because he's done way more than you and I bet that he can crush your pride by beating you to a pulp over and over again. Plus, you can have pride even after losing by recognizing the hard work you put in to get to where you are compared...

    Today's tennis is just sickening....

Dude what makes you think they're scared of Sharapova? They're just saying that they'd prefer to see more strategic tennis rather than pure ball striking. And those moon balling women in frumpy skirts from the 80's are no way less fierce, persistent, or as strong competitors and grand slam...

Why do people with lessons with through the ball more?

Also, I'm guessing that what separates a good player from a professional is their ability to take the ball on the rise? If so, what would you work on to execute the on the rise shot consistently with good pace? I hear "short backswing" a lot, but the pros don't seem to have such a short backswing.

Why do people with lessons with through the ball more?

So what I'm understanding here is that moonballing in higher level play is inefficient and actually 'harmful' because professionals can easily take balls on the rise and attack more often? But Nadal utilizes this moonball-like (or maybe better off described "high deep ball," but i'm sticking...

Why do people with lessons with through the ball more?

I tried searching for topics about 'moonballing,' 'high balls,' or 'high topspin' on the forums, but found nothing helpful. Everytime I look up a video on youtube, or see a player who has been getting tennis lessons for a while, I notice that their shots are more often nice topspin drives...

    Strings losing tension/breaking too quickly.

I'm guessing that 'kinking the string' happens when there is a loop and i just pull on the string, causing some unnatural twisting? How do you 'fan' the crosses? I'm guessing that cranking is just pulling the string after it's been weaved through the mains. Is that correct? I pull one main...

    Strings losing tension/breaking too quickly.

I've just started stringing a few weeks ago, and I am using an Eagnas 300 that I got from my friend. When I get my racket strung at a place like Racket Doctor or some racket store, my strings usually last me around 3 weeks. However, when I strung my racket, it only lasted me 2 weeks, and now...

How much does tennis work your abs?

Well sorry for not using the correct term, and I know what abs are. Sorry for me being so informal about it. I didn't know someone was going to be a dirtbag about it.

    Tips on Aiming?

Well hitting it two feet to a target is hard to do consistently. I don't think that you should be thinking that you always need to have that pinpoint accuracy. I don't think that even the pros can do that consistently. Maybe around 7 out of 10 times? I'm not really sure. I don't think you...

    Tips on Aiming?

Whichever direction the racket face is pointing is the direction your shot is going to go. In my opinion, it is a lot easier to aim your shots if you drive through it more. Imagine that you are hitting three balls in one swing: one right next to you (perpendicular to your shoulders when you...

    Its So Expensive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look up a hitting partner in the area? try asking around here in the forums. or if there are any round robin tournaments, those seem to be more efficient in getting experience. And if you're really desperate and like tennis that much, (you probably already thought of this) you should get a...
