2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

Yeah because winning a bronze medal for your country is a failure. Most athletes would die to win any medal for their country. Djokovic has won a medal for Serbia. I think he's done just fine.

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

I've been on this board since 2008 when Djokovic was coming up and I've been here all throughout his domination periods. I only left after the pandemic for a time. Not because I got tired of Djokovic winning. Tennis is entertainment. It's not life and death. :-D

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

Yeah, you don't normally see Busta blasting the fuzz off the ball with consistency. He seems to have no fear of Djokovic at all.

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

Djokovic played too much tennis under bad weather conditions. Singles and mixed doubles. He probably was overconfident coming in.

Wow! Busta is bringing out his inner Zverev with some of these FH bombs! Don't normally see Djokovic manhandled that way.

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

It's the Olympics. Djokovic going for a golden Slam. Or was. But a bronze medal still isn't bad.

He's more careful though. He flung the racquet in the empty stands. And he hit the netpost with his racquet as opposed to hitting a ball at a line judge. He's improved. :D

Busta going for a second win against Djokovic after beating Djokovic at the US Open last year?

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

Not much action on this thread as compared to yesterday's Djokovic/Zverev thread.

2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo Bronze Medal Match: [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [6] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP)

He seems to give Djokovic problems, style wise. The sort of pushing baseline player who doesn't take many risks sort of like Gilles Simon tend to make Djokovic frustrated at times.

Tokyo Olympics SF: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [4] Alexander Zverev

I can't see Djokovic purposely tanking considering the historical significance of this match. This wasn't a 250 or 500 or a Masters. This was Djokovic trying to win his first Gold medal and win the Golden Slam. You're trying to discredit Zverev in every way. If you even watched the match, you...

Tokyo Olympics SF: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [4] Alexander Zverev

I don't think Djokovic can be all that surprised with Zed's fight back. Zed has fought back before from a set down. He's blown Djokovic off the court a few times with power. Djokovic knew what to expect if Zed played at peak level. I think Djokovic is under pressure more and more considering...

Tokyo Olympics SF: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [4] Alexander Zverev

Djokovic being 34 might have something to do with it. Recovery time and endurance becomes more of an issue with age. Plus Zverev has smashed him before in BO3. It's not that big of a surprise. Zed's peak level is enough to beat any of the big 3. He just lacks the mental fortitude and...

Tokyo Olympics SF: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [4] Alexander Zverev

Djokovic was destroying the competition in Tokyo on the way to the SF. Zverev played at peak level and Djokovic had no answers. It happens sometimes.
