Novak himself seems like a nice guy though a lot of his fans are super annoying. IMO AO 23 is Novak's last chance to win another HC slam. He will most likely be among the favorites at Wimb for another 2-3 years given the grass field. Outside Wimb, I only see him as a strong...
I see Nadal playing a very limited schedule in 2023.. Probably 2-3 slams and a few masters. Then he will probably play the 2024 FO followed by the Olympics and then retire. May play doubles in Olympics with Alcaraz as his partner.
Novak can go on for another 4 years unless he suffers some...
Max end date for Nadal is FO 24 IMO..
While Novak is fit, I still believe 2023 could see him getting beaten by the Next gen at slams. A 19 year old winning a slam will sure fuel lot of young players to step up and dethrone the oldies.
Yes.. He missed lot of chances in Wimb 08.. W19 he did exceptionally well to get to a winning position. Honestly, I didn't think it was a possibility before the start of the match.. But then yes like you said, he probably froze mentally when the moment came to win it. The 4 points he lost from...
You are right.. Though he was much closer to winning the 2019 Wimb as compared to the 2008 one.
But yes, the 2008 W followed by AO 09 must have been heartbreaking for Fed considering that he was playing pretty well.
Yeah even slam conversion is pretty close..
I think it was both Rafa and Novak that had a great decade. Yes Novak "Dominated" the decade is a stretch. Domination would be a period like 2003-07 that Fed had. He won 12/20 slams which is 60% conversion over 5 years.
2010-19 total slams won:
Overall I think this decade has been closely contested between the 2..
2012 AO and 2018 WB could have gone Nadal's way. Likewise 2013 FO and 2013 USO could have gone Novak's way.
I think all the slams Novak and Rafa won in this period were well...
Am surprised he snubbed Wimb 19 altogether.. probably too recent and painful to speak about.
Though I agree that the 2008 W loss has to be most significant. It probably had a psychological impact on the AO 09 finals as well.
Of course Novak is the favorite for the slam race. I think he has been the favorite since he won the 2020 AO or maybe even before that.
2020 W, 2020 USO, 2022 AO, 2022 USO were 4 opportunities he missed out on. If he ends up losing the slam race he will look back at 2020 and 2022 as the pivotal...
Nadal is anyways running out of time to win slams. I feared he may never win another slam after the 2021 season and if putting nerve into sleep mode is what's needed to win a slam then so be it.
I hope he does whatever is needed to win slams in 2023. Novak may be competitive in slams for next...
