Any slicer-dicers here want to ‘fess up on strategies that work against them?

Do tell. Who came close? I know what makes me uncomfortable and could lead to a loss but everyone is different.

Any slicer-dicers here want to ‘fess up on strategies that work against them?

S&V knocked it out of the park with his advice. ONLY time I am not comfortable slicing is when I'm being pushed back. If I'm allowed to move forward, I can slice anything from anywhere. And heavy slicers absolutely LOVE a low ball. I'll let that thing almost touch the ground and then spin...

Dubs: When your opponents are about to hit an overhead smash...

Not really...just to old and slow to get out of the way!

How to find tennis buddy in BATON ROUGE?

I think the Baton Rouge YMCA has a pretty good amount of players there.

Dubs: When your opponents are about to hit an overhead smash...

Always stand my ground, may put the racquet right in front of my face, but always stand my ground...and never complain. I'm a big guy so I'm an easy target...besides not going to ever be able to get back in time...so I'm better off just staying put and try to react to whatever is coming. I've...

Dubs: When your opponents are about to hit an overhead smash...

I stand my ground, take wide base (just like after split step), racquet up and out front with conti grip and then try to see/guess where they are going. This played a huge part of my combo match win last night as it just so happens. We had won the first set 7-6 and it was opponents serving at...

    Northern Section players!

Been hitting at Public Indoor in Fridley this past week. Very nice facility...just kind of far away from where I am staying. Going to hit at Fred Wells Tennis Facility tomorrow to see how that is. Still searching for a group to hit with on a regular basis while I am up here. Kind of hard...

    Northern Section players!

I finally got my racquets up here to be able to play. I've hit at Reed Sweatt (outdoor as indoor closed by the time I got there), Hopkins HS, and Round Lake. Thought about Lifetime, but that is just too pricey for me...even though it is right around the corner from me. Got my Wife with me...

    Northern Section players!

So LTF's charge for outdoor courts? I asked that question when I toured there 2 weeks ago and they said no. They don't charge for outdoor in Charlotte, so I didn't press that further. That would change my decision of where to play. I don't mind monthly fees, but can not stand being charged...

    Northern Section players!

Well this thread turns out to be fortuitous for me. Just so happens that my job is having me split time between my home in Ft Mill, SC and Eden Prairie, MN. So I will be 2 weeks in SC and 2 weeks in MN starting this week. Anyone that could help me out with the Twin City tennis would be...

New one-handed backhand [video]. Looking for feedback.

Looks good. Only thing that I see is that on your take back you may want to keep your racquet more vertical. Take a look at Stan's slow mo videos for great example. Helped me get more "pop" on my OHBH.

    Volkl V-Sense 10 325g, pretty much perfect

Thanks Fuzz Nation. Pretty sure from your reply that the C10 is going to be more my cup of tea. Funny that you mentioned the "tip deadness" as I feel that from the O10. So much so that for the longest time I had trouble with my OHBH because I kept catching the ball high in that area. That...

Yeah...that's what I was afraid of. I need pretty much a carbon copy of the o 10 325. Anything on the c10?
