  • RIP Prestige XL - I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have served with such sweaty hands :-( HELP ME I NEED ANOTHER >_<
Small question: looking to try gut/gut hybrids (most likely with Max Power in the crosses). Is 50€ for three sets of 12 metres of Tonic+ Longevity (1.35) a good deal?
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
3 for 50 is a great deal, you'd normally be just under that for 2 sets IIRC
By the beautiful lake in Zürich for 3 weeks :)

Never thought I’d be quoting Jefferson when I decided to write my Bachelor Thesis on basic income
Starting research into Consumer Behaviour for my Bachelor Thesis... Fun times ahead. Would be thankful for any hints about good resources ;)
Phone fell in the filthy uni pond, I dove after it in underwear in front of dozens of people, and I got the now broken thing. What a day...

Brave guy, you. I can hardly imagine removing my three piece Armani suit and crocodile leather shoes in public and dipping into some public pond ;)
Hi SpinToWin, I would like to try for first time gut/poly on my ps 97S. I have Tonic+ 16 and looking for a poly. Would you be so kind to recommend me cross string? What gauge for this open pattern? Currently I am using UC at 23/22. Thank you in advance. Your reviews and knowledge are highly appreciated.
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
I'd definitely go 16 gauge for the crosses. The exact string depends on your personal preferences. I myself probably would go for Max Power.

Is 25/23 sounds good to you as a starting point?

Thank you for your help and time. Get well soon.

Tension sounds fine to me, hope you enjoy it. Thanks
Tore the ligament in my left ankle, at least 6 weeks off as of the 28th of March :(

    How's the recovery going?
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
Was on court for the first time yesterday, but clearly still need time to recover. Had completely torn the exterior ligament, along with smaller tears of the outer and inner ligament, so lots of damage was done ^^'

The more I read it the more it sounds like intellectual masturbation to me. Criticism for the sake of sounding smart (and getting a position in philosophy).
Played a handful of times this winter and I'll be playing a tournament tomorrow... At least I'll finally see what Playsight is all about tho
Hi STW, I have been away from the forum for a while and did not have the change to read your feedback about the new PS97s. What is your opinion about the frame and how does it compare to the old one? Many thanks. If you already left a review somewhere in the forum, please send me the link as I could not find it. Best
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
Unfortunately I have not tried the new one yet.... I am sure PeterFig could help you in comparing the two, as could a few others. There is a thread in particular that speaks about the new frame, if you can't find it let me know and I'll search for it and send a link

If it's any consolation, Rafa took care of one Zverev today, like a beast. Gave a proper clinic. Fed will avenge his loss soon to the younger one hopefully.

When I think of tennis I think of the professional sport as a whole, and thus the structures and policies that form it are my focus. I see huge systemic problems in this area which IMO are bound to result in continuing problems.

That's probably true. Many things are going on under the table we aren't aware of. I was under the assumption that you were talking about the competition.
Just don't forget your gas mask: every single foreigner I've talked to complains about how Paris' public transports stink. Especially the Metro.

Ahhh man. That ****ing sucks. Can you appeal it? At least we have tennis.
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
No I can't, HR has the last say in this. Playing tennis is good I guess, but it ain't the season where I can earn money by giving training and some working experience in an office environment is necessary really... Will have to end up looking for something near where I live and do my obligatory internship abroad another time...
Got an internship in Paris it seems, likely from the start of January to the end of March! Lemme know if you're in the area and up for a hit

Doing my trainer licence and apparently we'll be playing on Rebound Ace... Great that I haven't played on that surface before.

Well... It really isn't that hard actually. Definitely somewhat slower, but faster and with a lower bounce than clay, though slightly cushioned and somewhat sticky. I couldn't legitimately slide, only short skids really worked. It was harder on the knees than clay, though less hard than carpet. I quite liked it really and found it to be a fast adjustment.

Well I tried to emulate what I occasionally see from pros, can you blame me? Lol

lol - you got lucky. Rolled my ankle in my running shoes one time because I convinced myself that it was no big deal & a little light hitting never hurt anyone. Limped for a month, no joke.
No sports for 1 week thanks to the wisdom teeth removal and suddenly it feels like I forgot how to play a tennis match... Practice needed :/

Ouch, better to get em all out at once... At least your swingweight will go down, so in case you need to headbutt someone in a German pub, it will be quicker.. You will lose some plow though :P one tooth = 10 sw points? :P

Nice - but you sure you won 'em all? MPB tells me...
    SpinToWin

Won em all, except that one ******** match where we came late due to a misunderstanding and so we lost by default... Wrote scores so the club doesn't pay a fine -.-

Congrats! Not sure how things work in Europe but do you have something equivalent to national USTA tournaments in Germany?
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
Not really... It's quite different. National tournaments here involve guys way better than me (playing Bundesliga, so essentially pros).
Would anybody be interested in a TT philosophy thread or alternatively a group chat? Would love to discuss different opinions & theories! :)

Always been interested in Greek philosophy in particular. I'm not sure I'll be able to contribute that much (was Engineering major at uni and Health at grad school) but would love to read different views/opinions.
    SpinToWin
    SpinToWin
Greek philosophy is particularly interesting for moral questions and concerns of human interaction. Many texts were written trying to pin down what is good in respect to a human and how this state can be achieved. Essentially, if an exploration of human nature is what interests you, this is a very fitting starting point :)

Philosophy M.A. student here. Mostly interested in Western European social and political. I wrote an undergraduate thesis on Hobbes and Locke, but I can dabble in some ancient Greek (so long as it isn't Plato).
Procrastination my old friend, you've come to mess with me again, and a feeling is creeping upon me, tonight I won't get any sleep…
