well, got the same result as with the gut crosses and poly mains. the guts got ridges after two short matches and the poly crosses are somehow stuck and hard to get moving/sliding. the drive was crazy, served 10 aces in the first 2 sets, but the control decreased during the 2nd match...
do the pros really use the strings they indicate to? or do they just endorse them while using smth completely different like they do it with the racquet models which they actually do not play with? does anyone have a proof for some top players (e.g. string job pics)?
i decided to try reversing the tensions since the poly will lose more tension compared to the gut after an hour or two of play. not sure though if it was such a good idea, since the high tension of the crosses will prevent the mains more from snapping back easily, will do it better next time :-/
im of the same opinion. the original idea was to get spin from cyclone in the mains as well as power & feel from tonic+ in the crosses as well as preserve a bit the guts in the crosses.
just brought one racquet for the new setup: m: gut (babolat tonic+ 1.35 @26kg/57.3lbs), c: round poly (head...
i had a 1.35mm/15L babolat tonic+ natural gut in the CROSSES and a 1.25mm/16 völkl cyclone (a gear-shaped co-poly with 10 sharp ridges) in the MAINS. was playing a tourney and i thought ive noticed in the 2nd match that the völkl cyclones in the mains were not perfectly coming back into their...
im thinking about buying this one. anyone any experience with it? i've seen only positive feedbacks so far.
what are the maximum possible tensions?
any other recommendations with regard to it, e.g. any valuable accessories like a starting clamp?
thx in advance
could be true, but i somehow doubt that the specs, materials, balances, etc. are really equal. just asking myself why should he be the only pro to reveal his racquet specs... isn't this a disadvantage?
yep, it's pretty important for a rec player, that seems to be the weak point of this string acc. to TW, got a score of 60 :sneaky: to be changed after every 9 games ;)
natural gut strings get notches/fray really fast and stay where the ball moved them after the last shot after 1h of play (while the slick mono-polys return to their original position), this is what i experienced using völkl cyclone in the mains with babolat tonic+ in the crosses. i have the...
