Just for the record I am just talking about the ezone 98, not the tour. I'm sure the guys can chime in on the tour though.
I was originally eyeing the tour because of the lower RA but heard it was on the heavier side, for a guy like me.
It's just funny that the vcore, which is marketed as the stiffer high performance racket, is apparently more comfortable than the racket that is marketed as the forgiving plush racket.
Side note: My stock ai98 with worn down bumpers weighs more than my almost brand new prestige mp. Same strings...
I think the newest ezone 98 (not the tour) is considered a pretty comfortable racket, but after demoing it it's a little harsher on off centers than my Ai98. I tested them side by side both at 45 lbs and played a couple long grinding matches on the ezone 98.
The rackets look almost identical...
The real story behind this whole thing is I smashed one of my last ai98 (bad idea) and grabbed a new Pure Drive VS to finish out the set with.
I could't stand the stiffness, however the spin felt like 10x of my ai98 and I was like, ok maybe I am a bit outdated here with my ai98...
I am setting up some demos of the ezone 98 and Vcore 98 - usually would stray away from the stiffer types but I'm curious how the Vcore does with some softer strings.
Thanks for the pro tips. I never come over into the racket forum because it's too expensive.
Thank you. They just fell into my hands, and thought I would try something new. Felt so stable to hit with on first time and liked the control aspect. Then started seeing the holes in my game not sure I can just fix overnight.
I'm also more of a string guy and I miss the string effect I used to...
By using a thicker cross you can get more life out of a hybrid. You can use a 18g, more aggressive poly main with a 15L synthetic cross for example.
If the same cross was 18g it might not last one session.
It's a great question, but at the same time it is losing tension it is also losing its ability to stretch. Then at a certain point the stretch is all gone and no matter how much tension it loses, you are still hitting that dead stop.
You can also talk about the string bed locking and being...
This is my first post in the racket forum. You guys are talking about rackets as if they are living, breathing human beings.
And I love it!
I've been using the PMP for a few months, trying to get the swing speed up. Yes it has it's moments of greatness.
At the end of the day I miss the dive...
