How long does it take an experienced stringer to string on a dropweight?

If you haven't already tried it (with stiffer strings), try pull weaving, rather than push weaving. You may find that to be quite helpful.

Which polys do you consider "really stretchy"?

    Gamma XLT?

 Hmmm... a totally legit reseller, eh? If that's the case, he wouldn't have any problem selling you multiple machines, right? What do you suppose he would tell you if you told him "Great! I'll take 6 of them."?:whistle::whistle: Or, if you asked "Cool. What other...

    Gamma XLT?

^^^ I concur. I'd raise an eyebrow as to the reason why someone is selling a "brand new" Gamma XLT for $1400. Perhaps there's a totally legit reason, but I'd definitely be asking why.

    Gamma XLT?

These two things seem to be contradictory. Are brand new items typically found on there? At any rate... If the unit is indeed brand new, I'd say get it. You're basically paying the same price as a new Prog. ELS/X-ELS, but getting the much better linear gripper/diabolo tensioner. At it's...

    Gamma Progression II ELS Alternative?

Perhaps the Tourna 300-CS, plus a Wise 2086 ($945+645). You'd have a linear gripper (with a diabolo), slightly quicker mounting/unmounting, a stand (and larger tool tray), and still have the crank as a backup tensioner.

Having trouble putting string into the tie-off holes- what are you tips and tricks?

Maybe. Maybe not. Let's not be so quick to jump to that conclusion. We don't have enough information (yet) to make that determination. Some (i.e. most) racquets have the top cross tie off in the vicinity of the 5th or 6th main string (so, perhaps at 5H or 6H). Obviously, these are easy...

Having trouble putting string into the tie-off holes- what are you tips and tricks?

^^^ Agreed (at least for that top cross tail during 2pc. stringing). However, @GrilledBurgers you still may have to know how to deal with this issue when tying off the bottom cross (albeit only sometimes). Furthermore, during 1pc. stringing you won't always be able to "pre-insert" the tail ends...

Having trouble putting string into the tie-off holes- what are you tips and tricks?

@GrilledBurgers, Almost all of the tips/advice above are spot on. However, I would not advise you go poking around with an awl (nor a sharp poly string either). Doing so risks damaging the string which is already in the grommet. You don't really want to use an awl (or scrap piece of poly) to...

For those of you wanting a soup to nuts course on stringing, Richard Parnell has something for you...

The prices there are always so ridiculously outrageous (to be clear... the "menace", not TennisMachines), that, for the life of me, I can't understand how they ever get any actual sales.

    Crank stop and other ?

No. Rocking/tilting/wobble is not normal, nor acceptable. If that is occurring, something is out of adjustment. As long as things are adjusted/tightened properly, I don't think you should have play/tilting/wobbling on an Alpha or Gamma machine. Did you see this happening on an Alpha somewhere...

    Crank stop and other ?

Yes. Too minor to be a deciding factor. BTW, I just looked up photos of the Axis Speed, Axis Pro and Revo 4000. It seems that all of them do have an adjustment screw for adjusting the gripper plates (which, IMO, is an important feature). However, just to be sure, it would be best to call...

    Crank stop and other ?

Although it might be a slight point in favor for the Gamma, I certainly wouldn't consider that one feature to affect your "make or break" decision. There are many other (more) important features which you should focus on (apart from the existence of the stop screw). After all, as...

    Crank stop and other ?

@Folsom_Stringer_Musa, He's referring to the "stop" which prevents the crank assembly from getting too close to a mounted racquet. I talk about this from 20:40-25:25, 35:12-36:15 and 1:02:00-1:03:25 here... @Mjolnir, I knew exactly what you're talking about. However, I didn't chime in...
