Alexandr Dolgopolov Still Without Wilson Stencil/Sponsorship

Was watching the highlights today. The Dog still does not have a stencil on his stick. Does not have the new PJ as well. His racquet looks like the older Pro Staff 97S (no bright red butt cap either). Anyway, pretty sure the racquets are from his older batch and he played with same sticks at the AO this year without stencil. I thought he would have this sponsorship sorted by now. I guess being ranked below top 50 didn't help his cause.

However, now that he did win the ATP 250 event, he is ranked 50th in the world (decent enough). I was wondering if anyone had any info on his sponsorship deal so far.

(On a side note, wonder if Dan Evans ever got any clothing sponsors after AO as well).

From the latest I've seen he's still playing with the 6.0 95 strung as 18x16. It's shape is very similar to the 2014 Pro Staff 95 / 95S with the difference being how the bridge meets the beam is flat across the seam of red and black. The frame still has the decals indicating 95S.

I'm interested to hear as well. I wonder if there is something behind Grigor switching back to the 93, the rumor Alexandr would promote the 97S, and then Grigor's not quite right paintjob with the gold wilson for a short while.

Ah I see, I am by no means an expert on Wilson racquets/PJ (hence the misinfo on PS 97S) so I will leave it to your expertise. You are correct it does say 95S on it and is more than likely a 6.0 95. I just noticed that his stick was not any of the new ones and does not have a stencil.

P.S: have to say, Grigor has changed back and forth so much I have lost track of what he is using. I do remember the Gold Wilson on his racquet, looked pretty slick IMHO.

I'm no expert! I'm just a rando on the internet who remembers too much stuff that has no real bearing on my life.

Further proof that you don't need a new frame every 6 months :)
So true!!! I saw an HD closeup of the side of his stick on a changeover in Brisbane and there was severe wear pretty much all along the sides and top. Huge chunk gone from the bumper. I'd retire one of my frames if that "far gone"... lol

Maybe his agent is holding for a better deal since Dolgopolov was in a free fall begin of last year and now he is in the 30s! If he makes it to the 20s; Wilson would give him more or even a "personal" racquet endorsement. Many are interest in him and his racquet he uses.

@jsm1373 yeah, what was it, James Blake was down to 3 frames (and buying back his charity auctions) and Juan Martin DelPotro was down to 2 frames and both were still on tour?

Dolgopolov still carrying the Wilson red racquet bag; so he still has faith in Wilson to come through at the end! Goran Ivanisevic got only two or three Head Prestiges racquets from Head sent to him - going into Wimbledon! He won it of course! Head management was sort of in disbelief! LOL!

Exactly! Those two legends plus "the dog" getting big results on tour with sticks my picky 4.5 hacker self would think past their sell-by-dates... Haha, had a similar realization that my "worn out" TournaGrips really had tons more life in them after seeing Agassi play a Powershares match last year with TournaGrips that looked like they'd been through a lawnmower!

I'm lovon'' the dog. The guy is right there with that jerky-jerky short serve motion, lately he's hitting shots too!
