Ideas for next pair of shoes to try?

I currently wear K-Swiss Hypercourt Express shoes (10.5) and the tread has worn smooth in the toe area on both of my 2 pairs. I wear Superfeet Blue insoles cut to size in them. I like them for the most part, but there are some things I don't like about them.
  • The tongue, especially on the right foot, won't stay straight. I tried different lacing methods but it still shifts to the side. It's not bothersome for the most part, but can be depending on the sock I'm wearing.
  • Wish I had another eyelet to do the runner's knot like my old New Balance 786V1's
  • When just walking around, the Superfeet seems to rub against the shoes internals and makes a squishy/squeaky sound. Only seems to happen on the right shoe.
  • Not sure if this is from the age of the shoes or playing more often: My feet, knees, and arches are a bit sore right after I play and the day after. More noticeable on the right foot again, for some reason. Don't know if I should be having these issues, as I'm 27. Am I in need of more cushioning?
My feet are what I would consider medium height, and the Brannock Device has me at a Size 10.5 Arch Length with Size 10 Length overall and width of D. I seem to like the wider fit and mesh front of the K-Swiss, and that was a common trait of the 1st Gen New Balance 786's. What I didn't like about those was the durability and eventually the lack of support after the outsoles wore thin.

I've tried and returned these shoes for reference:
  • K-Swiss Big Shot Light 2.5 (sz 10.5) - seems to pinch or put pressure on my toes. The rubber material on the front seems hard. I didn't want to bother with break-in so I returned them.
  • Asics Gel Solution Speed 2 (sz 10.5) - uncomfortable pinching of toes, fit seemed off
  • Nike Vapor Advantage (sz 10.5) - Narrow, seems like the fit changed at some point. Metarsal extents rubbed red.
What shoes should I be looking to try out? I'm not sure if I need more cushioning, but I'd like the shoes to maybe be a bit more durable, if possible. Seems anything with hard plastic in the front, I dislike. Does that just come from lack of time to break them in?

Thanks for reading, if you need any more info, let me know.

Whelp, my post was probably too long-winded. Don't blame anyone for not reading it.

I will cut to the chase. Anyone order a large number of shoes in different sizes from TW only to keep one and return the rest? (say, 8+ pairs) The only local tennis store with a decent selection of top shoes has obscure hours I can't get to anymore. I went there once and tried shoes on for about 2 hours, with different shoes/insoles/socks. The guy thought I was crazy, but I did buy a pair. I got a few notes about different shoes and sizes in my mind, but I feel like I need to compare some side by side.

Oops, elaborating too much again. I have returned a few items back, but never that many. Wonder if anyone has any experience.

I haven't returned any shoes because if I wear them on the court at all I just don't think I should return them, but I did donate a garbage bag full of them. I go through a lot of shoes because of various problems with them, but my feet are narrow and totally different from yours. For instance, I like the Adidas Barricade 2015 Boost, but I think they would be too tight for you.

I would recommend you try the Prince T22 or T22 Lite. They are roomy fitting, which you like, and nearly everyone thinks they are comfortable. They used to make a narrow version, which I liked a lot, but they don't make them anymore. They are also durable and have lots of cushioning, and it sounds to me like you can use more cushioning.

Well, I was planning to wear them around the house and only taking the ones the felt right to the court. I've only done that for one pair at a time. Maybe I just have more paperwork to do with more pairs.

I remember trying out the T22 and finding the claw pieces uncomfortable in the toe area. I don't remember if I tried going a half size up or if I was using two pairs of socks. But I'm going to order a few different pairs wide cushioned shoes in various sizes, namely the SFX, SFX2, T22, Kaos, and perhaps a few others.

You might give the Nike Zoom Cage 2 and Yonex Fusion Rev (first version) a try. Both are great all around shoes with plenty of room in rounded toe boxes.

Shoe fit is such a personal preference thing -- I liked the Big Shot Light 2.5 so much I switched from the Fusion Rev and bought six pairs of them at half price. They do taper a little in the toe compared to other shoes I like, but they fit my foot perfectly with no pinching and no real break in. Others shoes I have in back stock are Wilson Kaos, Fila Cage Delerium, Zoom Cage 2, and KSWISS Ultra Express (hard to find now). All fit similarly with more room in the toe box and forefoot than most tennis shoes.

Good luck.

Asics Gel resolution 7.

Tested a ton of shoes last year from the nikes, asics, adidas.

Nike cages are really bulky and stiff. I don't know if they would be convenient to wear around the house.

All the adidas I try, toe jams. I hate them, however I feel like their soles at least with the 6 month warranty has the best grip.

Asics are probably the most comfortable. Speed solutions have a different fit, I think you will like the resolution series.

I'm sticking with the gel resolution 7's. I'm glad I finally found my go to shoes.

From what I remember, the Gel Res 6 that I tried in the store seemed pretty comfortable, but that day I ended up buying a Yonex clay shoe. I'll definitely add that to my list of shoes, and it seems the 6 is on sale! Neat.

The Zoom Cage 2 was weird, felt strange on my feet. I think it was the arch support.

Anyway, I've got about 6 shoes in my cart, now I just have to push myself to pull the trigger. The potential of dropping $400+ all at once on shoes is getting me antsy (even though I know I'm going to return 5 of them). Thank goodness for credit cards!

I used to own a pair of the Gel Res 6's. It's the most comfortable tennis shoe I've ever worn, despite the heel slippage and the fact that I had to use the extra laces holes to lock my heel down. However, the main reason I stopped wearing them is because my knees would feel pain during a long match. I know they feel soft and comfortable when you try them on, but they don't have the impact protection you get from certain other shoes IMO.

How often do you guys replace your shoes due to the cushioning going away? I'm curious if that's the problem, because one of my pairs is 7 months old and the other is 4 months old (avg 3-4 hrs/week). I'm wondering if it's time to change to some new pairs? I think I'll add a pair just to see if that's the case.

Really liked the SFX2 on my shoe trials. Very cushioned, think I will be switching over. Insole is the thickest I've seen other than the Prince T-22, feels nice.
