Any Lacoste fans ? (or other 'not Nike, Adidas or Wilson' folks)

Let's see your gear.

I'd rather play in a Gn'R tshirt than be one of the a.n.others (I jest, but you know...)

I purchased 3 Lacoste tennis polos on sale - won't be wearing them until the temperature creeps above current 8 degrees celcius (that's 46F in your quaint colonial units)

What'cha got?

I like their cotton/poly tees. I have a handful of those and a few polos. I think I'm going to snag a few more when the prices drop. I like two of the colors they used for this season, etna red and oceanie (turquoise basically). I'm thinking these two, but I do like the navy/oceanie color block polo too.

Wonderful stuff! Great quality and classic design. Styled to be sophisticated and fashionable at the same time. Money well spent.

classic POLOs in classic colors: these are not "tennis polos" but the classic L12`s and I actually use them casually but in combination with white shorts they are very classy on-court too! and even better looking than 90% of lacostes actual tennis gear

dark green and bordeaux

The downside to lacoste has been playing in humid South Florida. When you really start sweating, their sport/tennis shirts get very heavy and cling to you. They really aren't good to play in if you at going to be sweating heavily. Nikes are far better in that aspect.

One can never go wrong with these classic polos. Love them all!

Some awesome shirts pictured above!
The best look for a tennis-playing man:
White shorts and a solid, colored polo made from the lightest cotton -- the original performance fabric. Feels great on the court. Shirtchanges every set, but I would rather play in this than in poly.
Honorable mention:
The Diadora Scotland jersey and sfida crew.
Funniest:
the slazenger shortshorts.

I would wear the roland garros lacoste après tenis.

Man there's a couple Diadora shirts that I wish I had gotten. There's the main one that Ivan and Gaston wore. I was also interested in a couple of the Roma jerseys when Diadora was doing them. Admittedly, I don't follow soccer but I did play when I was a wee little lad:D I do have a couple Nike practice jerseys. I'll spoiler tag them since this is a noNike zone

Oh and while you're here, I never knew that Puma was German. I learned that just a few months ago. I thought they were Italian. You probably know this but I believe that they're HQ'ed in the same German town as Adidas.

the founder of puma and the founder of adidas WERE BROTHERS (Rudolf Dassler and ADI DASsler).

they argued about what path to take with their sports shoes / company and decided to part ways..

and I am sorry again ( inside joke @CivicLx) : but I do not like Puma, Tretorn and Lotto.. 90 % of their stuff has no style but that is only my personal point of view/ taste.
and baseball bats do not change my taste

Oh, I must have read that because I did check out the wiki page for one of the companies I think. I miss Germany...and I miss buying clothes:( I think all or most of those Lottos came from TWE because they had a bigger selection than the US store

lol WTH @Matt_Matthews, I didn't see your comment about not liking Puma, Tetorn and Lotto until after I quoted you and posted my reply. It's only then that I saw it. That's a good thing boy because you are just asking to get hurt:mad:

One of the best shirts I have is a Boast top. Got it from Boast directly for $20.
I'm not sure if I have heard of Boast before. I think I have seen it on one of the sites maybe but not sure. I think of all the shirts that I posted above, I like the feel of the Tretorns the most. I've only worn one of them though. I think the other one still has the tags on it. @Matt_Matthews, you should try Tretorn but I know how you Germans hate the Swedes:p

You're right @civ... I mean DONALD,

- WE HATE
E V E R Y B O D Y
...
- we owe money to the NATO
- you had NO connection / support from your ( historically ) no1 enemy(!) russia
- you never lie
- and did you see WHAT HAPPENED IN SWEDEN ( Tretorn sweden) LAST NIGHT?!

It's a throwback brand that uses a Japanese maple that looks suspiciously like a marijuana leaf. Good quality stuff, and trad looking.

Love Boast!
In the 70s and early 80s, it was like an American version of Lacoste or Fred Perry.
Stayed High quality through the 2010s with high quality material (cotton and poly) club logos, and good cuts for golf and tennis.
Now, they are making short shorts, like from 1983! what?
The leaf is often equated with cannabis, but it will always be cool, and tongue in cheek.
The cotton tees and polos are just as good as Lacoste.
I have a pair of boast sweatpants. Still good after about six winters, and some home/lounge use.
I also have a boast cap. Wears well, and looks good frayed. Yup... frayed so.

Hahha, yeah, the legendary Japanese maple leaf.
Like a cannabis leaf only less jagged, and with two fewer points.
Oh, and when you wear it, you're high on life. Baked on life, meeyahnn.

Play hard, then play hard.
Donald young rocks the boast lifestyle.
Their website is pretty cool. Funny stuff about college ambassadors.
I think boast is cooler than Lacoste, if that is possible. With similar quality.

Fanks for the spoiler alerts, man!

Yup...ferru, ljubo and gaudio had the Assymetrical stripe diadora with the 1 of 11 heat sensitve logo on the deltoids. So cool. I had a few in red, white, black and navy. Slightly higher crewcollar, too. Very nice look and feel. But....it was all poly, so eventually it did wear out, fade, and not look as good....as the best cottons.

What did you mean "fanks for the spoiler alerts"?

And do you have pics of those Diadora shirts? I think I can picture the different colors. Actually I can't. You must post pictures:p

Ha, sorry, i just meant thanks for your spoiler alert, this being a swoosh-free and sucka-free zone.
Re: Pics of my diadora ahirts and soccer jerseys...
I gave them all away when i stopped playing indoor soccer about six years ago, and when diadora got out of tennis (the sfida shirt, rocco shorts, and matteo shorts).

Easy to search Diadora, with gaudio/ljubicic, acasuso, ferrer, calleri, kuerten, et al, for images from the early 2000s and 2010s.

Lacoste was the first tennis shirts I wore back in the 60's in high-school, loved the classic design with the long tails. Only one style and a choice of colors. Then I believe Lacoste was bought out by General Mills and things went south from there. Started buying other brands like Nike's Agassi styles, the screaming ball and the denim shorts with the tights built in. As an aside, I debuted this look at GG Park one day by shear accident before Nike did it--they must have had a fashion spy in the bushes. I'd come from working out a World Gym in the Sunset near the park with a trainer and we went for a hit in the park. I had my gym tights on and out of expediency threw my denim Nike shorts over them. A short time late Nike came out with their version of my impromptu look, but they had the tights in day-glo fuschia built in.

Back to Lacoste, my gf gave me a birthday present of some bath towels and wash cloths in blue similar to one of the shirts above. To my pleasant surprise, they had the Lacoste crocodile logo on them, I think they are authentic. I will throw one into my tennis bag to bring to the courts to dry my wet balls with.

Lacoste is one of my all-time favourite brands (classy, high quality products and on top tennis-related)..

BUT

have you guys seen the new TENNIS LINE from Lacoste with YAZBUKE ?
I received a mail from them a couple of days ago as i am subscribed to their newsletter...

29y5jl3.jpg

you can cut the YAZ and exchange the b by a p = PUKE !

absolutely ridicolous and Fugly.
I cannot believe that this is even serious. how can a brand that represents style and class release this kind of garbage looking bs for tennis ?!

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous and tacky. Maybe that's the new Djokovic line? hahahaha
It doesn't bother me, I still love the brand.

I got the email too. Ugly is too kind.

Haha, i had those shorts in 1983, and I am currently wearing the same wristband.
Now, as for that shirt, cap, and visor .... were they designed for the 10u demographic? Just make the ball orange or red or something.

A classic heavy coton polo shirt that lasted the longest for me was Lacoste. Otherwise, I'm not huge fan of it or any other big tennis brand. They all sell hugely overpriced fashion statements. I'd happily play in any no name product, as long as it doesn't absorb the sweat and fits decently...
If I had to pick one big brand, I probably like Fila the most.
Also, Champion is probably not tennis specific, but very good value for money sports clothing.

Necro bump. I actually didn't get any of the Lacoste stuff from earlier this year. Did find another shirt that I kinda like, but I dunno if I like it enough to buy. I like the black contrasting with the white, but kinda iffy on the two lines going across the front. If you didn't know it was a Lacoste shirt from the croc, you'd know from "Lacoste" running across the chest 10 times.

What do you guys think?
