multifilament strings

hi all

a few years back, i was using an rpm blast and nxt multi setup. to get more "power" i transitioned to
full poly. i have been playing with alu power, rpm blast, and more recently solinco hyperG and tour bite
last night, after playing singles in the am, and a long usta doubles match, my wrist and arm got stiff, like
the full poly bed of hyperG and tourbite were bothering me. i used the hyperG for singles, and tourbite for
the doubles. this is the firstime in many years i have felt stiffness in my arm and wrist.

if it continues arm and wrist stiffness continues
i was thinking of trying multifilaments again. i used wilson nxt17 for many years, but that was a while back.
any suggestions for some strings, as i am sure there have been many improvements over the years
i noticed that solinco makes vanquish? any comments
thx

Since you like HyperG you might try this. I am using HyperG 18g mains with Volkl V-wrap syn gut 17g crosses and love the combination. The 18g HyperG is very playable and easy on the arm/wrist. The syn gut also provides comfort. Great spin and power when I need it.

hi mike
getting my poly tension down to 30# is not controllable for me, thanks
for the list, if my wrist and arm stiffness continues, i will try some of the strings
on your list, it appears extensive
thx

You could also try a tension somewhere in between. Going to multis after using full poly for awhile, I think you'll find the multis to be somewhat uncontrollable.

When I try other peoples racquets with full poly or hybrid setups and similarly weighted racquets, I find no real difference in control. It is only the launch angle that changes. You adjust to this in ten to fifteen minutes quite easily. The only thing that doesn't adjust is arm pain which is non existent with multis. Oddly enough, one of my friends uses full kevlar which causes no pain.

hi all
played this am fun doubles verses the usual group except jeff showed, and he is like a 4.5 who hits hard and can sustain
rallies. as i was against him for both sets, i enountered no arm or wrist issues.
used the hyperG racquet and the tour bite, so my arm and wrist issues might be a one off. \

i will hold off on multis or hybrid for a while
but keep the list in mind for future reference

thx for the comments and advice

Poly at 30 got rid of my tennis elbow.

Hope your arm and wrist stay healthy. BTW what racquet are you using?

OMG, hyperG and tour bite!

Tecnifibre X One Biphase 1.3. Switch to this before it's too late for you.

I had been using X-1 Biphase for crosses with NG mains before I switched to Signum Pro Micronite 16 after going trough "Mikeler's Multis". And I'm pretty happy with the performance of the new string for less money. :)
You should check out the post.

I have been trying to get away from polys and switch to a multi. So far, Head FXP mains with a smooth poly cross is as close it has gotten to a poly string bed for me. I also liked Prince Premier Attack but the ball pocketing is better with FXP.

How is the notching with FXP mains?

I liked PPC also, but Velocity is better.
