Your odd opinions

Thought it would be kind of nice to have a thread for your opinions on pro tennis or players that are not in line with what everyone seems to think.

I'll start.

Nick Kyrgios' forehand is his worst groundstroke, and actually prevents him from reaching the top.

I think that Khachanov will be the dominant ''next gen'' player in the next 1-2 years.

He's very raw, but he only needs a little more control in his game - and some guidance and tutelage from a measured head - and then he'll supercede the likes of Thiem and Zverev.

Could be, I certainly liked what I saw from him vs. Fed in Halle.

OP, great thread but I'm afraid I only have great and rational opinions, not odds ones ;-)

Isn't that Fed's doctor?

He is the kind of doctor that mostly sees Australian players

McEnroe likes him, but too big to succeed.;)

Shavopalov is already looking exceedingly dangerous at a young age. Was really moving well in his last match and the offense he has at such a young age is amazing. This kid could bring oldFed game style in a young lefty body in a few years. Only thing holding him back is a poor return game. I believe he is about to make a very nice move up the rankings.:p

Kim is one of my faves. Yeah there are (much) better looking women but she looks great because of her sort of aura and general being. Kim for the win.

Ancic should have won at least a slam and should have been a top 10 player in the big 4 generation.
Is that an odd opinion? Dude was deservedly hyped back in the day. Certainly when Wimbledon came around. Even before his health nosedived the slowing down of the courts really worked against him almost more than anyone else. Maybe Taylor Dent too.

Probably not. I just felt like plugging ancic. Sad story but good to see he's killing it outside of tennis.

Maximo Gonzalez has a better forehand than most of the top 50 on clay and Marin Cilic has the perfect serve to copy.

Like cilic serve alot but to add my "odd" part to this matter: Im quite baffled how guy that tall with that very aggressive service motion only generates around 125mph on his first serve..

It's an easy on the body service motion, he can go 5 hours serving like that. Accuracy and enough power to be in control, his forehand is in a similar mould to his serve

Tsonga's backhand. I mean it is so bad compared to every other stroke/area of his game that it makes one to wonder how he has not got it any better. I get that someone has an average serve since the motion is complex, but 2hbh is not and Tsonga's pretty much sucks..
