Kvitova stinks. Losing to konta on grass. An UE machine. I doubt she will ever win a slam again. Her mental makeup is not there.

Kvitova's screams after winning points are absolutely ridiculous. Screaming when you've just won the game after being 40-0? And then after only reaching 30-30 at 1-3 down? Eh?

Well, of the two who I gave a shot at beating Serena, one is gone and the other too is in deep trouble. There's Halep but I really don't see her troubling Serena on this surface. Halep would have never gotten away with three double faults in a row against Serena, for instance.

Halep has a chance if she gets Serena moving. Serena looks better than she has in a long time, and gaining confidence with each round. But, her movement is still way below what it once was. If she's controlling the court, she's okay, but her defense and thus defense-to-offense isn't great anymore. That said, I saw some smarter defense by Serena today - when pulled wide, she wasn't always trying to blast while out of position; she smartly hit some loopers so she had time to regain court position.

Why were so many people sure Barty would beat her? I adore Ash but Serena would have easily handled her game especially if Ash played like she did today. The reason Ash is so good against her opponents is they're not used to her slicing and such but Serena is used to it. She beat Ash at the French Open last year, a match Ash should've won. Didn't expect Ash to beat Serena if she had made that QF.
Well I’m not apologizing for thinking Ash was the no. 1 favorite.

No disrespect to Alison but today would never have happened had Ash’s serve not gone missing.

Serena can get broken by anyone these days, so yeah, she would have been pretty challenged had she faced a solid serving Ash.

The FO from last year means nothing. Barty has grown leaps and bounds since. Serena hasn’t.

Ugh. Not even Halep, you think?

Halep is that kind of player who beats Serena easily in the group stage of a tournament and then gets trounced by her in the final.
Whilst also being responsible for the fact that Serena was even able to reach that final.
No, Halep will never beat Serena at Wimbledon, for reasons that go beyond the psychological.

MP gone for Konta, and Kvitova breaks... Let's see what happens now and if Konta can bounce back from having MP on her own serve. I am abroad so can't watch it live - I imagine it'll get very tense soon unless Konta breaks and wins the match now.

So in the bottom half it's Svitolina vs Muchova and Halep vs Zhang - I'd go for Svitolina vs Halep but that is definitely not set in stone with these 2. It's also Zhang's 2nd GS QF and she's played a tonne of doubles recently including winning the AO with Stosur, so she's getting more accustomed to these high pressure situations which she never had earlier in her career. What do people think will happen in the bottom half?

Oh my, oh my from 5-2 to 5-4 - Konta to serve for the match again - what a way to make it easy for yourself! Can't help but feel ridiculously nervous that Kvitova will claw this back! Come on Jo!

Turning out to be a pretty terrible tournament. Theres nobody left on the top half that can even challenge Serena.
Ridiculous, these last few years have proven almost anyone can beat Serena anywhere. She is not invincible at all. She has a couple bad games and starts to crack. How many times have we seen this. Riske can beat her. So can Konta. So can Halep.

Definitely Svitolina-Halep semi imo. Muchova will be exhausted and Halep has zero business losing to Zhang, as long as she stays healthy.

Great match by Johanna. Somehow lost the first set but piling on the pressure and taking the break early in the second set completely frazzled Petra

Finally someone with a realistic appraisal.

The woman lost to Kenin in Paris, and I’m pretty sure that Riske on grass >> Kenin on clay.

Good for Konta for maintaining composure after the break and then hold by Kvitova. I was rooting for Petra, but kudos to Konta - nice match.

I actually like Serena. But people act like she is the big three rolled into one. Its stupid. The woman has lost many more slams than she has won. She is far from unbeatable. Literally anyone left can beat her.
