Looking at Sphinx stuff now. Always was fascinated by Egyptology.
Rumors that the Sphinx was originally a statue of Anubis, and that it has hidden chambers inside, no one wants to talk about or have supposedly never been inside. Epic how well of a job we did patching it up, when it was raggedy af 100 years ago. In any case I can't stop watching vids and reading articles :D I would almost love to go back to when it was completed and see/know what the real deal is.

this stuff is pretty interesting, I know a lot about the great Pyramid, but not so much about the Sphinx.
the only thing i know is that back then they had some mean technology.

The great Pyramid is insane man. Only one of the original 7 wonders still standing, and let's not get started on the metrics. Less than a 2 inch variation in length of the 4 sides, and the stones are laid so close together that you can't fit a credit card between the cracks of it. Dunno how they did all that.

They were built by aliens as some kind of something which only they know.

Maybe like we plant a flag on the Moon. They leave pyramids wherever they go, LOL.

They have been in it (idk about the head though) and there's supposed to be stuff under it too. I think there's a lot in Egypt people are being mum af about. I've been fascinated about it since I was a kid but last night the fire got re-ignited. I wanna know everything damnit. It's so fn interesting. I def think the Sphinx used to have a different/bigger head. I wish we knew what it was,

Look at Jesus :p #unintentionalpuns
You read about the curses and stuff with the guys that discovered King Tut's tomb?
I am pretty big on Egypt stuff as well, so I have watched a few documentaries that are pretty convincing. The amount of "hidden" things there seems pretty expansive.

Saw one from History channel that had a crew searching and then the Egyptian government basically said nope, that is enough. Just when they were on to something.

By the way, are there Egyptian players on tour? I don’t remember any playing ATP tournaments. What’s the ranking of Egypt #1?
Yes, I’m lazy to check the ATP website.

The great pyramid has a 20 tons door that can be opened with one hand, and the entire inside of the pyramid never goes above 20 Celsius even in the summer.

Too good to be just humans working on it. Also, they used to have a shirt glimmering outside that would reflect the sun that it would have been seen from space. :alien:

When this song was played, it was fast skate time (kids off the floor), probably before your time. You may remember as a young buck though

Would you go back to BC times for a week if you could (knowing you'd safely make it back)?

I was gonna say that Younes El Aynaoui might have been from Egypt but I would have been incorrect. Wrong part of north Africa. From Morocco (NW Africa) rather than Egypt (NE Africa).

I was reading recently why the ancient Egyptian males shaved their head. It was because they believed more sun on their head resulted in a stronger skull. A harder head was more useful for their armies.

A number of years ago some studies were done and found the Egyptians belief to be true. Where the sun shines on the skin, the bones underneath tend to become stronger.

Some think it was a head of a lion originally. Body resembles one of a lion, especially the paws. Some geologists claim it's more than 10.000 old based on examining water erosion on the sides of it.

Smaller pyramids of Egypt from the officially same era when big ones were built are barely standing today and were obviously built with nowhere near as much expertise as the big ones. Alternative archaeologists claim it was just the limit of the masonry knowledge of the time and that the old knowledge was long gone at the time Egyptology is officially dating the great pyramid of Giza. Some architects are convinced we're not able to recreate the great pyramid with same level of precision with our modern technology today.

There are pyramids all over the world, which may imply ancient global culture obsessed with building these objects. Biggest ones may still be hidden under the mountains, overgrown by forestry and snow.

"Morbid" and "macabre" seem more suitable words to describe the obsession of the ancient Egyptians with the afterlife in their normal rituals and everyday life.

They were just taking seriously what religions later on also talked about. If you really believe in an afterlife, you have to take it seriously.

10,000 years old, just imagine. Crazy stuff

"Take it seriously" is one thing, starting to build your own glorified tomb (and something that will be considered your biggest legacy) as soon as you ascend to power is just another level of "seriously" in that regard.

They probably looked at it the way people look at retirement plans today. Start saving from day one. Likewise, start planning your tomb and its contents immediately. Life is short but eternity is long. Which is more important to prepare for?

Retirement is not for eternity, and it is not certain.
