Tennis in Las Vegas

Hi TT members,

I plan on staying in Las Vegas for the month of November and looking to meet fellow TT members who might be interested in match play or just hit for a couple of hours. I am available during mid afternoons to evenings on weekdays.

Darling has a lot of players and you can always pay to do a drop in clinic. There's also a guy who has a couple of courts off Charleston Blvd area but I can't remember his name unfortunately.

I am from Vegas .... What type of play are you looking for?

Darling Tennis Center has the most in terms of clinics and people to connect with. www.darlingtennis.com

There is a fairly active meetup group .... mostly mornings and evenings during the week.

Hitting and match play. I usually can't do mornings or evenings so meetup probably won't work for me. Looking for hitting during the middle of the day when the weather is the warmest.

Ah. Don't know anyone who is not working in the middle of the day. Since it is now the very end of the month, hoping you have found something.

I'll be in Vegas the week of March 15th. Looking for clay courts, it looks like DTC hasn't built theirs yet and Stirling is the only one with clay courts (but membership only, although I'll be calling the pro there and asking if there's any way two high school kids could slide around a bit...).

Also looking for matchplay, doubles and/or singles. If anyone here wants to play that'd be great, or know the best way to get matchplay for a day or two that'd be cool as well.

Check the Google reviews on Red Rock CC. Alleged discrimination, no adult clinics listed on website and would be visiting from out of town and 30 min drive from Vegas strip. Darling Tennis is 20 mins from strip, hard courts, well maintained, and has wide assortment of drop in clinics were you can try to connect and schedule match. Non resident guest fee is concerning. $15 versus $10, Guess they didn't know pre covid the Strip was around 40 % of Las Vegas GDP.

DTC is my club ... where I am at least 5 days a week.

The facility is subsidized by the city and part of the negotiations when it was built 18 years ago was that residents do not pay full price. It is still just about the cheapest rate for clinics and court time that I have ever seen. (and a 90 minute clinic for residents is $15 and non-residents $20). We locals really don't care if visitors pay more ... they should as they are annoying as all heck everywhere in town. We do appreciate that they keep us income-tax-free and low property taxes.

Red Rock non-member clinics do exist ... on only Sundays I believe and are $35 for non-members. At this time I do not believe there are court rentals available for non-members.

Nice to know. I'll definitely be hitting up DTC. Just wish there were clay courts in the desert.

I'll be there 3/17 or 18 through 3/21 and might drop in to a clinic at DTC... if I can wake up early enough for it.

Well you are in luck ... on Fridays there is a 10:30 drop as well as on Sundays ... Thursdays there is a 6pm drop as well as a 7:30pm that is singles focused and really good. Therefore you can avoid the 8am or 9am slots!
Would be fun to see you again but that weekend is already booked for me. Let me know if you need any assistance with anything!
