I don't know...looks like a 'B' on the throat. And the color looks close to what they've been marketing in the word 'Boom':

Okay yeah, didn't see that picture so yeah. It's a Boom paint job
Fixed it for you ;)

To be clear, I have no issue with them switching him to a new 'paint job'. From a marketing standpoint, it makes perfect sense: You already have two widely recognized Italian players using Head racquets in Berrettini (Extreme) and Sinner (Speed). Why double up on the Extreme line with Musetti?

Also...I'm assuming he's not switching frames, given that (as I understand it) Musetti was actually using the Extreme Tour mold. I guess maybe now would be a good time to loop @dr325i into the conversation?

It is the real Boom Pro in the picture

Switch or just PJ switch?
According to our resident Head expert, switch…at least for now.

My guess would be he’s using this tournament/exhibition to put the new frame to the test. Maybe make some tweaks, then spend some time in the off season getting used to it, and make a decision before heading to Australia.

FAA did something similar with the PA VS, using the new version at the ATP Cup, then going back to his original frame.

Man, they just totally ditched the silver and yellow extremes. Like it was the plague of head releases.
mom interested in boom.

Hmmm...good point. He originally said it was the "real Boom Pro in the picture", then, as you pointed out, "he may be going Boom". No "yes, absolutely 100% he used the Boom Pro in the match against Baez".

But...maybe we're parsing his words a little too finely, reading intrigue into a situation that has none. I guess we'll just have to wait until next week's episode...

Yes actually, Head has most silos:
- Gravity
- Speed
- Radical
- Extreme
- Prestige
- Boom
They are all different with some "overlaps". But I'd say they have no gaps in their portfolio
What Head racquet does the Boom feel closest to?

Bianchi Celeste is the colour; you know, the bike company that championed the use of Countervail tech. - worked out much better for them than it did for Wilson.

I love the Bianchi Celeste green. Shame it had to be paired with the name "Boom."

Seems like this frame will be very well received, however, so I guess we'll have to deal with it.

Looks like a short-lived switch. He's playing with the Extreme Tour today against Gaston.

Still in the testing phase. Rublev did this a couple of years ago when he was still with Wilson. He used an Ultra, Burn and Pro Staff during this event.

The head shape of the racket Musetti is using looks a bit like that of an LM Instinct or is he in fact using an Extreme?
I’m not going to go searching, but at some point last year @dr325i confirmed Musetti was using the Extreme Tour mold (most likely the pro stock layup, but I’m guessing at that).
