Post a picture of your favorite player in his coolest outfit.

This imo is the GOOAT (greatest outfit of all time)
French-Open-outfit-Andre-Agassi-1990.jpg

THIS!! It's absolutely the greatest outfit ever worn on the court (the other shirt was better, the one that had the straight lava bars and the black top half). It brought out so many more people to the sport as I was one of them. Growing up in the mid 80s (born '76), there as only 1 tennis club in my town. And if you were a member, you were rich! Straight up! No normal family had a membership there. So I always thought tennis was stuffy and country club strict. Then I watched a young guy from Vegas in 88 and then in '89 my mom took me sneaker shopping. Was going to get the ATC II Hot Lava but got the Jordan IV instead.

Andre got me into the sport, and showed me that you can be a free spirit and wear cool clothes and have fun out there. It's why he will always be my tennis idol! And thank you Nike for bringing his '90 US Open gear back soon!! I can't wait!!

I am a converted fan of Fognini's game and his gears. Some of his previous Hydrogen gears and current EA7 gears are miles ahead of Nike and Adidas, cutting and design wise. The Fog certainly wears them well as well.

Gotta agree, Fognini is an acquired taste but I've grown to enjoy watching him play. I think he's the only player I've seen that successfully manages to make some of the Hydrogen kits look good and not entirely ostentatious. I generally love all of his EA7 kits too and I want to buy some at some point

I think it's not so easy to buy his EA7 stuff.

Just a bit of context- when Agassi rocked this pink outfit, it was back in the 1980's, this was at a time well before (about 10-15years before) it was trendy (for males) to wear any type of pink. Well before 'salmon pink' polos were seen in regular stores.

So when Agassi came along and stunned the tennis world in bright hot pink, it was so out there at the time. Brilliant design, iconic shoes. Same for the volt outfit after that.

Well, he dominated just fine in 2017 and 2018. So I don't know about how "well and truly" it is.

2017 Final, he was down a Break 1-3 in the Fifth Set and came back to win. Don't call that "dominating"! Nadal actually lost that Final.

2018 Final, he was much better. But it still took him 5 Sets to win against a clearly mentally inferior player.

So it is well and truly for those who believe dominating a match means winning in Straight Sets at Best, or three out of four Easy Sets at worst.

Down a break just makes it sweeter.

Slow the courts down enough and Novak will win everything till they turn to clay.

Listen -
I like the outfit.

that’s all.

I wasn’t looking for your argument and that’s not what this threads about.

No offense, but if you wanna talk about how washed up Fed is or how great your guy is there’s plenty of threads for that.

Why not take it there?

take care

@Federev, you set the standard by using the word "dominated".

I was simply pointing out 1/ You were wrong about the 2017 Final, and 2/ No need to mention his play. Just comment on his clothing.

That's all.

Cheers.

For one of my other favs (get well soon Grigor):

Sea green is an awesome color, and rare for Nike.

This all-blue one comes from 2015 - the new improved version of Fed's RG09 gear. Super cool detailing on the Vapors. The blue really contrasts against the red terre battue.

That first polo is a exclusive to Asia if I remember correctly. Never made it here in the US nor EU. I remember seeing one on the auction site but never pulled the trigger.

Fred Miami 18 with the Vapor AM95. Saw someone coming off the court with these recently and forgot how sick they were. Wish I could get a pair now :/

Here's a killer Nike outfit that doesn't get nearly enough love:

This outfit is so "Rafa". Aggressive design, bright neon, total coordination. Really liked those CourtBallistecs, too:

I wonder what it would’ve looked like if the shirt were black with the sonic yellow accents. (The design represented the open skies of Flushing Meadows, at least the blue one did)
The soles from the shoes are patterned like the taxi cabs in NYC just for a fun fact.

Love the New York imagery. IMO its better with white because the yellow streaks are more subtle on white than they would be on black.
If I were to design another alt colorway for this: midnight blue shirt with brighter blue streaks, sonic yellow Nike logo/bull on the shirt, white shorts, and sonic yellow bandana/wristbands w/midnight blue logo. White Courtballistecs with bright blue accents. Since the day kit represented the daylight sky of NY, this would represent nighttime (I like the actual colorways Nike gave us better though)

Here's a killer Nike outfit that doesn't get nearly enough love:

It looks just like his tennis racquet.

It actually makes Rafa look like a Babolat AeroPro Drive tennis racquet circa early 2010s!

All it needed was a Babolat logo on the shirt and shoes instead of a Nike one to make the look complete.

Didn't notice that, even the racquet is the right colorway!
And the 2010 kit looked just like his current PureAero PJ.

I always liked the relative simplicity of these shirts. And the use of breathable sections. Plus, you know he is about to rip that backhand

Nike forked with Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. There was a line for the New Balance-y crowd (Pete Sampras) boring, bland, collared and that gradually turned into the Roger Federer line. The flash and sporty of the Agassi became Rafa's line and gradually turning into Frances Tiafoe's line.
Their basketball image was always modeled on "street" - what did the "streets" respect - Kylie, Lebron, Jordan, Greek freak, etc.
You can see Nike's tennis progression - Sampras, Federer, next boring line of clothing will go to Shapovalov/Sinner and the sporty Agasii, Rafa line will probably go Tiafoe/Alcaraz/Rublev.
Two demographics - old dudes vs young guys image. Work casual vs street-wear (ish).
