New Prince Textreme Tour Series

Can't remember if it's been posted already but I noticed the new lineup selling on the Prince Japan site.

Very nice looking IMO.

Interested to see if TW are going to stock these.
I already heard the disappointing news that they are not going to stock the new Beast 98s (which are an improved version of an already great racket)

While it would be nice if 2020 models were actually released in 2020, I’m just hoping they’ll be released at all; frankly it’s all a bit late in the day for Prince outside of Japan.
(It’s too late for me - save yourselves!!) :-D

Yay!! A ported Tour model. Hope it's released worldwide, may just be the worthy successor to the orange/black Tour 100 ported models of a few years ago.

Maybe a little, although I haven't used the solid beam version for a while as I basically prefer everything about the O3.

Prince website lists the power as 850/870 for the solid/O3 versions which suggests a bit of an advantage to the ported model.

The O3 ports on my Beast 98 O3 are incredible. So comfortable.

It's the only marketed feature on any racket that I have ever purchased that makes a substantial positive difference. Tremendously underrated IMO

Ports expand the sweet spot and that combined with increased manoeuvrability due to the ports should result in more power over non ported model all else being equal.

agreed completely. Unfortunately there is no word of confirmation from TW if there are bringing the ported versions of the tour here (like they already have now in TW Europe). A poster has ask them the question and they replied confirming the Tours arriving except left out if they will bring the ported ones with the new ATS

Which thread was this? Last I saw they hadn't confirmed. Good news if the Tours are definitely being launched outside of Japan...

In the UK they sold a limited version of the 100P in this white colour.

I've been looking for a good solid sub 12oz frame recently as I age I am not as quick as I once was. Most tweeners I tried played way too hollow and had too much power. Tried the tour 100P this summer 18 x 20 and liked it, but ended up giving it to my wife as she needed a frame for the summer. I liked it, but felt it was actually a little low powered for what I was looking for. My 15 year old son is now using it as he has just stared playing tennis and he loves it. I had his bag in my car and a buddy called me to play last minute so I went out n the court with the Prince and I was very delighted with the way it played. I have it strung with vs gut 17g at 55# and I played some of my best tennis in a while with this frame. Felt very solid with a good size sweet spot, came around fast, but still feels substantial enough for my 1HBH and it had plenty of plow. Launch angle is lower than my Becker melbournes, but Once I adjusted, I got plenty of spin and good depth. I felt like I could rally all day with this frame. Serves were easy to place with pace and spin and the frame was very easy on my arm. Where I really love this frame is at net. Punch and touch volleys are right there. I see a lot of players using the 95 tour, but not many using the 100. I tried the 95 over the summer and did not like it at all. I m going to play a match later this week against a solid 4.5 and I am going to use the tour100P and see how I hold up with it. It does not feel that much lighter in hand than my Melbournes ( which are 12.6 oz 6 points HL) Tour is 11.9 strung, but it comes around very nicely with just the right amount of swing weight, and I was serving and volleying quite a bit without issue. This one is a real sleeper and should get more attention for players who like player frames but in a little lighter weight than most true players frames come in at.

I still use the Melby as my main stick, but as I near 61, for singles, I probably could use a less demanding frame. I'm hoping the Prince will deliver what I am looking for.

Ported Prince frames have always been a bit resented by stringers as they're a little tricky to string properly; I've avoided them in recent years as Prince's diminished presence on the tennis scene likely means stringers have less and less experience with them and may be more apt to do a lousy stringing job.

I was originally coming from my hey days with head prestige mp 18x20 and have been eyeing tour 100p for a less demanding upgrade.

Also considering recent prestige now with bigger true 98 sq inch hoop.

Then again looking at 30 something players swinging pure drives, I also wonder if I should go all the way to pure drive type powerful stick. :-D

How about it's relative plow through compared to non ported version?
Even if they have same swing weights, I have a feeling it might have less plow thru since they have hollow ports around the center of the hoop, no?
