Hit partner in Tallahassee June 3-9?

I’m going to be in the Tallahassee area the week of June 3-9. would love to get a hit or two in while in town if possible. I’m a 38 yo former college player (div II) - my level is 4.5/5.0. If you will be in the area and are similar level and would like to hit, shoot me an email at...

    Nike Cage 3

@Phantasm interesting that you mention the blisters. Played about 4 hours day...singles and doubles. Definitely felt like the blisters were coming! I double as well. I also noticed I was scuffing the toe up pretty good, and the cage part looks like it got beat up too - like it might even rip...

    Nike Cage 3

Played in Cage 3 for the first time today. I had to size up .5. For me it is like .5 up is .25 too big and regular size is .25 too small. If that makes sense. So i'd rather have a little extra room than have a shoe that definitely feels too small. Anyway, put in three hours of singles today and...

    Best Cushioned Tennis Shoe?

@CHillTennis thanks for the response. I did own a pair of Cage 2. While I did think the cushioning was quite adequate they did feel a bit to clunky (and also hot) for me. I did just pull the trigger on the Cage 3’s in my normal size. May have to send back and go up half size, as others have...

    Best Cushioned Tennis Shoe?

For me super comfy. Love that thick tongue. Good for about a set, maybe two (singles) but after that just not enough cushioning underneath for me. GREAT shoes for just unlacing and lounging :) Thanks for your input!

So many good responses - thank you guys for sharing and open to hearing whatever anyone else wants to add based on experience with particular shoes.

    Best Cushioned Tennis Shoe?

@old man stringer 67 if you’re 67 then - physically speaking at least - I’m sure we are the same age. Thanks for your input. Price doesn’t matter when it comes to playing or not playing. :) thanks again.

    Best Cushioned Tennis Shoe?

@imajica77 thank you for your input. The cushioning just becomes more and more of a factor with my old joints lol Only heard good things about the Yonex shoes - and agree with you that it’s all about foot type/shape. Have never owned Yonex but tried on in store. Wanted to like them, because of...

    Best Cushioned Tennis Shoe?

Hi Folks! I’m asking opinions from others on best cushioned Tennis shoe. Approaching 40 years of age, cushioning is becoming more paramount as I can feel the difference in cushioning of shoes in the joints after a session of hitting/playing. Want to play as long as I can and - while i’m...

    Nike Vapor X

Probably between 20 - 30 hours singles on the X's now. Looking at the sole today - I just can't believe how much they have held up. Full tread pattern looking good. Wear zones look less plastic-y - like a softer rubber, but I'm amazed at how well they have held up thus far. They are not...

    Nike Vapor X

Approx 20 hrs of singles play on X’s. Could not be more pleased and impressed with sole durability. Starting to wear a little bit, but not much at all. What I do feel is happening is that as the outsole has worn slightly from play, it has gotten less “slippery.” At this point I imagine I...

    Nike Vapor X

Prob about 15 hrs singles now in the X’s. Solid playing shoe - for sure. I really thought they would get torn up easily by looking at them. But they have held up just fine, and I am rough on shoes. Starting to notice a bit of wear in certain spots...but nothing major. The hard rubber looks...

    Nike Vapor X

I loved BMS' shoe reviews for TW! She put on the X's, hit three balls, and was like "nope. too slippery for me." It was just neat to watch a high level pro know so quick what will or what won't work for her. For me, I have put about ten hours singles on my X's now. Very impressed all around. The...

    Federer praises Del Potro

I am glad Fed is giving JMDP the credit. I also think in the third set, Fed figured out how to beat him from the baseline...even though Fed balked at the finish line. I do not think Delpo will beat Fed again. Hope they play in Miami or USO so I can see if my theory is right or I'm seeing things!

    Nike Vapor X

Logged a few more hours singles on the shoe. Def feels very locked down and secure on top due to the lacing system. But the bottom of the shoe does feel awkward to me on court during play. It’s definintely a different shape/design from previous vapors and I keep expecting it to feel like...

    Customizations by Kimguroo ^_^

@kimguroo I am always so impressed with your RF work on the shoes! I may hit you up at some point for some work. Great work, the new Wimby additions look fantastic!!!

    Nike Vapor X

Put 4 hrs singles on the X yesterday. I was impressed. Not plush comfort of Vapor 9, 9.5... But very solid performance shoe. Didn’t have the low to the ground feeling as the shoe is raised a bit due to beefier sole (which seems to be a stronger/stiffer rubber), but definitely felt like a...

    Nike Vapor X

IIRc Catalogue called it “vapor prestige” and description says it is model “to take the place of the vapor advantage model.” Made me think “dang” cause I was hoping it wasn’t a take down but rather performance level shoe like Vapor 9/9.5. But I must say that, from the looks of it, it does...

    Nike Vapor X

That is a great point. I love it. Not the silly clown colors but the lime green homage to the original, of course. Isn’t that so crazy about aesthetic values? One person can think it is horrible and the other beautiful. The ol beholder sitch. Too bad they will be gone before most (who want) will...

    Nike Vapor X

Brilliant creation, imho, to put the am 95 on a vapor x sole BUT they should have kept all lime green accents like OG that would have been PERFECT all the colors look a bit silly

    Nike Vapor X

You know what I think it is, for me? I think I was spoiled by the 9. It boggles my mind that Tinker drew the shoe in ten minutes on his iPad. I think having him create a shoe for Tennis (vapor 9) raised the bar so high, that the next iteration was bound to receive some backlash. Just my .02

    Nike Vapor X

    @TW Staff anything at all?
  29. J

    Nike Vapor X

@TW Staff can you tell us any info about a possible Vapor Legacy shoe to come in 2018 (Something akin to the 9/9.5)? If so, do you know if it will be a take down (a la Vapor Advantage or Oscillate XX) or if it will be a top shelf performance shoe? Thanks in advance!

    Nike Vapor X

Maybe I wasn’t clear - I was saying they make excellent products for their basketball lines, whereas this seems like a poor effort for Tennis. I don’t know if they didn’t want to pay/couldn’t get Tinker for the X or what - but they have the resources regardless to produce and excellent product...
