    2019 Wilson Blade

Thanks for the tips! There is a lot to like with the 18X20 blade. I spent more time on my serve today. Flat and slice were great and very accurate once I got the timing down. Power was decent but not the "get out of jail" power I can get from a Babolat frame. Kick serve started to come around, I...

    2019 Wilson Blade

I tried it, I didn't see any of the upsides I'm seeing with the 18x20. Just a softer version of what I've been using (more or less).

    2019 Wilson Blade

well, good news and bad news. I measured my Wilson blade 18X20 demo. 11.4 ounces 32cm balance 324sw. with Wilson NXT at 55. SW is way too light but it works for me. I love this racquet on Volleys and slice backhands. It's very accurate on ground strokes although a bit linear compared to what I...

Is the 2019 Pure Aero superior in every way to the 2016 lime?

FWIW, I find serving and volleying better with the lime but touch and depth control is better with the 2019. At this point, with such an established frame, you aren't going to gain much without losing something. It's about tradeoffs. I have every iteration of the Aero drives/pure aero and it's...

    2019 Wilson Blade

I played with the Blade in a match and I struggled. Partially because I wasn't fully dialed in on the serve or return. I switched pretty quickly. I felt with the Blade 16X19 I was giving up more than I was gaining compared to my 2019 Pure Aero. The blade was easier on my arm and I could adjust...

    2019 Wilson Blade

O.K. spent a good three hours at drills hitting with the blade and an Angell tc-97 today. The blade swings really well. I'm impressed with the pop and depth I'm getting but the touch leaves a little to be desired. There is surprisingly some trampoline effect on the ball (NXT at 55). This...

You are probably right. I'd have to buy the racquet to find out..

    2019 Wilson Blade

Hi Guys, I finally got to hit with the new blade 16X19 yesterday. It has NXT at 55 in it as do all demos from my local store. Specs are 11.6 ounces, 33cm balance, 335 swing weight. Honestly, it was a strange hit for me. I just came off of demoing the Yonex 97 pro 310 and the Ultra Tour. I liked...

Prince TT Tour 100 (310) Need your opinions.

Thinking again about what you said. If you add lead equally 6-12, 3-9 will enlarge it adding in only one spot should move it...right?

Prince TT Tour 100 (310) Need your opinions.

I'm not so sure that's true is it? All I can tell you is when I hit with no lead, I feel the pocketing. With lead at 2 and 10 its O.K. and lead at 12, it's higher and my normal hitting spot feel harsh.

Prince TT Tour 100 (310) Need your opinions.

Hi Guys, I need your opinions on this and anyone who has specs on their Prince TT 100 (310) would be really helpful. I demoed a TT Tour 100 (310) and decided this would be a good switch from my Pure Strike. It's a little softer and has slightly better touch but pretty similar. The specs on...

    Heavy vs light.

This is such a hard question to answer as it is so dependent on your preferences. I have a buddy who used to play with the Volkl PB-10 at 12.1 ounces, with a super thin beam etc. A total old school players racquet. He switch to a 104" 10.9 ounce Volkl v-4 just to make it a little easier on...

    Official Wilson Clash thread

FWIW, I spent the weekend with a ball machine the Clash tour and my favorite racquets from the past. These were the Pure Aero (1st gen), Pure Strike 16X19, and APDO. Some version of the APD has been in my bag for a years so this is going home for me but I felt I needed more feel and control. I...

Sorry, the 295 is great for her but far too light for me. My ideal specs are 11.5-11.6 ounces 4-5pts HL and 326SW. It's easy to get a Pure XXX there. impossible to get a Clash tour there. It's my understanding that the Pure XXXX are the best selling racquets in history. Everyone has something...

O.K. I think the biggest issue I am having is the extreme headlight balance with the clash tour. Why the heck didn't they make the racquet the same weight and swing weight as either the Babolat Pure Aero or Pure Drive?? The most popular selling racquets, ever....I feel Wilson missed the boat...

A few more updates. I find my pure strike to have more control and almost as much spin as the clash tour. My kick serve is better with the Pure Strike too. It shouldn't be, but it is. I need to add a little weight to the head of the Clash.

IMO control is not as good as the Pure Strike. The Clash tour does not hit as heavy a ball either but it is much easier on the arm.

Tough to say. My guess is the Clash may rely on some resiliency to do it's thing, like a rubber band, it flexes at impact and reacts by sort of snapping back into shape. These are all terrible analogies, I know.. When it gets cold, it stiffens and loses that resiliency. IF it is truly reliant on...

I'm sure you are right. I live in Georgia and this time of year the weather swings a great deal. (from 35 at 9.a.m. to 65+ by 2:00 p.m.). I had my Pure Strike and Clash dialed in so they hit pretty similarly. Using the same string, I noticed on a 40 degree day, that the drop in power on the...

Mixed reactions with the Clash. Serve is coming but inconsistent. One thing I did notice, because of the unusual way the head flexes. This racquet is very susceptible to weather conditions. I played yesterday in 40 degree weather and I was having a great deal of trouble getting depth. Much more...

Hi guys, quick update. I am mostly enjoying the heck out of the Clash Tour. Ground strokes are great with plenty of spin. Nice and deep. Flick shots are amazing! Volleys are very good but it took a while to find the center of the racquet. It's really head light. Feel is really prety good. The...

switch over from 2014 Babolat Pure Strike to an arm friendly racquet

If you hare having arm issues with multi's, you need to get rid of that racquet... Is this the white or "Darth Maul" Pure Strike? What did you like about it? Stability, power, control?

I just bought a Clash Tour. There are still some Jekyll and Hide moments with it but I had so much fun playing with it, I'm willing to spend more time with it. I realized the Clash tour is pretty much the racquet I've been asking Babolat to build forever. They just got there a very different...

I'm starting to really like the clash tour. It took about 4-6 hours of playtime to understand what I was feeling. I couldn't really use the same measuring stick I use with all the other racquets I test. What I mean by this is the ball jumps off the racquet faster than it feels. There are still...

    Pure drive never felt comfortable

Try the Clash or Clash tour..They remind me very much of a pure drive with a little better control and much less shock to the arm. I played 4 hours of doubles yesterday with the tour with a stiff poly and my arm feels great. The clash's are a very different racquet. It took me about 4-6 hours of...
