Indeed he has such an easy-going and hard to read attitude with lazy legs and all... I personally hate this kind of players who feed on your pace and efforts to make the ball alive.

Woa, that's nice and smooth. Control all over the place. Some BHs look dimitro-wawrinkesque to me, with the loose wrist follow-through. Love it. With some extra lines and some cheerleaders practicing behind large windows, the court would be perfect.

    Some beautiful court level hitting

Compared to Shapo, Rublev has the grace and fluidity of a soviet-era main battle tank roaming in a flattened chechen city. He is also nearly as loud. I like both, though .

No google translater here. We, french people, naturally have the creepiest form of intelligence.

:cautious:  wondering whether it is bacon or pig... I was subtly observing, full of french délicatesse and courtoisie that I am, that your video was very artistic but tennistically indecipherable, due to sordid technical details. However, after viewing it again, I have a vague feeling...

Clay in close-up has always been a huge source of inspiration for TV producers, especially short clips before Perrier ads at Roland Garros. Yours is beautiful to watch. Looks silky and smooth. Makes me want to dive like Monfils for any ball sailing around, in or out. Too bad there is no...

    TTW Battle at The Farm

I slowly start to catch how hitting approaches like there's no tomorrow is a key to a decent TTW ranking. But I read nowhere how following - or maybe NOT following - the endless list of technical tips and analysis debated over countless thread pages does affect the equation. :-D

When I wear my favourite players apparel I tend to play better

In my case I noticed that when I wear hot colors (red, orange, yellow), my top spin is heavier. I think it's probably because of locally hotter air around my mid section which emphasizes Magnus effect. Nike yellow is ok for pace but rather flatish, whereas Adidas pink definitely bumps my TS FH...

    Kick serve comparison

wow, both serves look great to my novice eyes. As someone noted, your shoulder flexibility is pretty good, right ? Do you actively practice stretching ? When I watch my own videos, my shoulder/arm posture at uncoil is nowhere near that, even tough I am reasonably fit o_O Also, I was surprised...

ah... classic french bashing :cautious:. I knew that, everybody hates us !! My best answer is in the chorus of that tune which bathed my ears during my teen years learning drums (and which I am listening right now, getting bored at the office):

After attending the mighty 1/8th finals at Bercy last week I was full of hope for my tennis, and thus had a good hitting session with my little brother. Couldn't resist to post it :). Some nice shots, but I was rather tired after re-painting all the lines so that people here do not make...

    The Real Withdrawal Story

I didn't see this match. But I don't think it would have been a dilemma. Paire has been among the first to lose french citizenship (Sarko on ne t'oublie pas) through a national consultation following both the shoelacegate vs Tsitsi, and the Bartoli Affair shortly after. Rumors say he has been...

    The Real Withdrawal Story

You're totally right, when entering the arena I was discreetly proposed 50€ for cheering loudly after each point won by a french player, and a extra 50 for booing each point won by their opponent. I was also given a Rolex watch to try and dazzle opponents with an accurately aimed reflection of...

    The Real Withdrawal Story

Wow, I was seriously considering having my english skills recognized by TOEIC or similar test, since I read a lot of American sh*tty sci-fy on my Kindle, spend far too much time on nonsense threads on TTW, and incidentally work for a US-based company since 4 years. However, reading the post...

    The Real Withdrawal Story

Dude, I was there for the 1/8th (Thursday), and it was just simply gorgeous. I have attended to the last 5 editions and maybe my eyes are getting old, but I honestly don't see any obvious change. I agree that all 1/4th matches sucked but you should maybe accept it's just bad luck... Concerning...

Game is nice, camera angle and image quality are great but.... man... 3hours of unedited raw footage? Are you serious? Do you realize you just melted a chunk of icecap larger than Qatar?

Human brain has a surprising plasticity. Experiments showed that people can live normally after a few days, when asked to wear permanently some VR-like goggles which flip the image of their environment. Thus, I think a few dozen minutes should be enough for any motivated - and not color-blind -...

Thanks. I think you generously overestimate things but I do accept any fuel for my empty tank of tennistic self-confidence. Yes I am the red thing (this is my new winning strategy to blind my opponent with an excess of red information), the other guy is a bassist in a 90s heavy metal band who I...

    Role of left hand

In some strange cases, which science and reason fail to explain, left hand is used to hold the tennis raquet. More seriously, I read somewhere that Kyrgios was always pointing at the hottest girl he spotted in the crowd.

    ATP serve net clearance?

I'm going to Paris Masters in 2 weeks. On the smaller court you can literally sit behind the umpire (for free). Last year I saw Isner vs Kachanov on this one, among others. What about a few SD cards worth of videos from the side at net height? How much do you offer me for that invaluable and...

Why can't I get lateral spin on my (tentative) kick serve ? (With video)

Concerning toss - and I quote @Chas Tennis 's post but others are concerned as well - don't you think the tossing arm angle (with regards to baseline) can have an important effect on shoulder line orientation, ESR and coiling/uncoiling, etc ? I mean, for a similar impact point, the way the ball...

Here we go. Due to a knee surgery 3 days ago and a laborious recovery from Ebola virus, this day I was playing tennis with my left hand. It was a bit windy in there, so we opted for long, intelligently constructed rallies 8-B.

Why can't I get lateral spin on my (tentative) kick serve ? (With video)

Nobody reacted to my last post... I know this is technically off-course from the OP, but don't you think inverted slice is a cheap yet convenient way to annoy opponents? I mean when one doesn't have a kick that really bounces wide, of course.

Why can't I get lateral spin on my (tentative) kick serve ? (With video)

Disgusting. Videos of good shots are sources of inspiration, videos of too good shots are sources of me wanting to drop tennis.

Why can't I get lateral spin on my (tentative) kick serve ? (With video)

Hi, Some short news after this tsunami of advices: after working a while it's getting a bit better but... as someone was observing, getting this lateral spin is interesting in my case only if I can mix with other zones and spins. As a lefty this lateral bounce would push the opponent further...

Are You Still In A Tennis Slump?

o_O:eek::X3:. Tennis is not exactly the sport for your average family kid in Moscow, right? I pay #160€ per year for full access to 4 greenset outdoor + 2 indoor courts (with weird lines everywhere, I have to admit), and my ball machine being kept warm and dry... (and, I'm sure @Dragy will...

    Vid of some casual points

omg this forehand looks perfectly fine to me. I need to educate my tennis eyes. Maybe I need to see tennis things naked. What about a naked version of the video in the OP ?

how to improve those "barely reached" defense shots (squash shots, etc.)

Yeah, my problem is that I bring them back most of them but they are too easy for my opponent to finish. Let's say: I bring 80% back but get nailed on the next shot for 90% of them. I'd prefer execute a more risky shot (let's say 60% in) which buys me better chances to win the point anyway.
