Prince Textreme Tour 95 - Fantastic Frame

Using it in the stock form. Gut/poly 57/55. As a separate topic, The latest two string breakages(less than 10 hours) were right at the edge on one of the holes in the grommets in the upper hoop. Wondering if it’s the tension being too high, hybrid comebo, string job, etc because I didnt...

Thanks for sharing your experience. I ended up having it strung at the same tension. I shall see tonight how it plays!

    Prince Textreme 95 Discussion

Hi, For those who came from Prostaff 90 with Gut/Poly hybrid, what would be good tension to start off on Textreme Tour 95? I strung my Prostaff at 54/50 and would like to have TT95 play similar in terms of tension. Thanks!

Any experiences with new PS97S yet? Peterfig or anybody else?

Not in my experience. Done it with a set of Wilson Champion's Choice and Tonic Plus/Poly. In both cases, done by my stringer and he didn't mention any which he would have if he'd run into such.

Just wondering, if you are familiar with Wilson sticks, which of Wilson model each of TC90 and TC95 70RA would be most comparable to. Thanks!

Ah, that's the previous model, I thought you meant the latest on. Thanks anyways.

How or where did you score such an awesome deal? If you don't mind. Knowing how much it cost here, I gotta ask since I've been looking to get one.

    The gut/poly thread

I play all-court game, eastern forehand, one-handed backhand. I put moderate spin on forehand shots, I wouldn't call it very powerfully, but can flatten it out when right height.

    The gut/poly thread

My first gut/poly hybrid(Wilson Champion's Choice) lasted me 7 months playing 2 twice week on avg. I had the crosses re-strung twice during the period. Very happy with the combo as is my wallet. After the breakage, I had it strung with Babolat Tonic+/Alu Power Rough and it feels just as good...

Which racket of the Pro Staff 97 lineup is easiest to customize to feel like a Pro Staff 90?

Keep us updated with your subsequent customization as I am on the fence and your mods sound exactly like what I would've done. Cheers!

    The best insoles

I've been using them for the summer season and they are great, especially for heel support. However, if you are looking for some extra cushion on forefoot, they don't have much, but I would think that is the case for most of the aftermarket insoles...

Any experiences with new PS97S yet? Peterfig or anybody else?

Thanks for sharing your experience. 5 in the head, although I would also try at 12, and 5 in the handle was exactly what I thought I'd try next time when I get a chance to demo it again. About the spin, I usually get really high launching angle on my forehand side with the 'old' 97s and with...

If you ever mod the new 97S by adding some weight to the hoop in order to increase plow-through or stability, I'd be very interested in finding out how it works out for you as I am not quite ready to open up my wallet for the new one partly due to I've become very accustomed to the modded 'old'...

I don't know how to measure the swing weight, since adding extra weight, but coming from a RF97 before landing on the 97s, iirc, it felt a bit easier to maneuver, but it may not be that different. I didn't pay much attention to the SW because the reason I switched from RF 97 to 97s was due to...

I demoed the new 97s(52lbs Head Hawk Touch) for about 1 1/2 hour and here are some of my thoughts on it. BTW, I play with the 'old' 97s with 10g in the handle and been using 56(gut)/52(poly) combo last 6 months. - A bit less plow-through on flat shots - Generally less power, slightly - More...

Thanks for the comparison. BTW, the variance, especially in Swingweight and Balance, between the single sample and the average is just way too much. In either case, looks like those who added some weight in the handle of the current model may go the other way by adding some in the hoop of the...

I inserted a strip of lead tape that is folded up to fit in the area under the cap. Most of the time, it's fine, but I can feel it rattling or vibration when I hit the top of the frame or the hoop.

Ask the Co-Designers of the RF 97 Autograph Questions!

Without knowing how much weight is transferred from the hoop to the handle with 3 pts differential(from 3HL to 6HL), if that much loss translates to less stability/plowthrough given such low static weight as it is, I'd prefer it to stay as it is. All I need to do as many others have is just to...

    The gut/poly thread

OK, this is one for the more experienced. I have had a gut/poly hybrid on my 97S, initially strung with Champions choice(56/52) for 10 hours, then had the crosses restrung with Luxilon 4G soft at 50lbs for another 10 hours, and then currently had the crosses restrung with Head Sony Pro at 52lbs...

    Best Overgrip for Sweaty Hands?

I too have a sweat palm and tried several brands among which are Yonex Supergrab and Babolat Pro Tour. They are both good at what it does, and for sweat palms, Babolat Pro Tour takes the crown if you can take the extra thickness, but it's more absorbable so that the extra thickness is that much...

    Did Dimitrov change racquets again?

I am not talking about the swing weight per se, but if there is less absolute physical weight in the hoop in the new one compared to the current one, I'd think it would feel less solid or produce less heavier shots going the other way. Of course, we can't just separate the power from the...

    Did Dimitrov change racquets again?

Can't wait to try it out. I might not have to put weight to the handle, but if it's more headlight at the same static weight, would it lose that solid feel or plow-thru in the hoop?

What string/tension/frame was your very best string job?

Champion's choice(or gut:poly) at 56/52. Very nice, however i would string it a bit higher next time. Pro Staff 97S

    6.1 95 inch to pro staff 97s

Haven't tried a 6.1 95, but in general, when you switch to a new racquet, you need to find out what makes it work better or worse than the old racquet and then make the necessary adjustments.
