    Mizuno USA Tennis Official

Thanks for the review. Hope to find it in Hong Kong soon. I actually owned the shirt Ivan wore (autographed and everything, together with shorts, socks and arm bands.) For some reason it was way too small. Especially the shorts. I never thought Lendl was that much smaller than me.

Enjoy you Trainer 1 while you can. The PU midsole exploded on my pair (granted, it might be 10 year old shoe...)

Does anyone abuse weaknesses more than Djokovic?

Just checked the ATP Tour website and it looks like it's a tie. Both won 4 BO5 matches against each other. Stan's game matches very nicely against Nole's style of play. Totally different story when Stan meets Roger.

Wow. I think I'm getting one! How cool would it be if ST brought back Pete's US Open 90 shirt?

    Vintage Tennis Shoes

^^^ Not surprised about that. Rod Laver upper was (and kinda still is) revolutionary for a tennis shoe. Not supportive enough for pro level nowadays, and just fine for a 3.5 weekend warrior.

    Vintage Tennis Shoes

For actual playing, I find the Laver to be way better than Stan Smiths.

    Vintage Tennis Shoes

It's a classic of course. I actually played in them few years back and the PU midsole and outsole were terrific for hard courts. Its durability though, was pretty bad.

^^^ Very interesting history here. They used that logo on Power and Wilson branded shoe.

    French Open cancelled?

Funny that nobody mentioned Macau. They had 10 cases in the beginning and now they're reopening their schools cause they didn't have any new case in more than a month. That's government doing their job.

    French Open cancelled?

Just started to read this thread, so I might be late. How do you know that Covid-19 is like the flu?

USA bans all travel from Europe for the 30 days. Players hoping to play in Miami would need to arrive by Midnight friday

This is very disappointing, so disappointing. The west had 6 weeks a head start to prepare for this. And they chose to do nothing. Now, Europe will follow Italy in one week and then States will do the same in 2 weeks. It has nothing to do with fear: when there is a big earthquake in the ocean, a...

    Nike 2020 General Thread

Agreed. Still, that Freak shoe is nothing but branding with some heel cushioning. There is an interesting review here: https://weartesters.com/the-nike-zoom-freak-1-has-been-deconstructed/

    Nike 2020 General Thread

While I do agree that tennis footwear out there lacks the "wow" effect, I don't see how a Freak type shoe would sell to the tennis consumer. That shoe is nothing but a gigantic swoosh. We want more than just branding.

Everyone in tennis melting down while Maestro stays winning

Nice, I didn't know that hotel name or logo. I, too like the Federer's logo, even though I think it is as lazy as it can be to use initials as a signature.

Everyone in tennis melting down while Maestro stays winning

What's the amazing part of Roger's logo? They used his initials: the easiest and most uninspiring way of a signature.

    Djokovic News

Nole would happily trade any US Open title for an Olympic gold medal. He cares too much about representing Serbia, not to do it.

He does talk about his shoes and foot problem in his book. Specifically how nike customizes his shoes on one foot (left?) to have a hole/cut out under one of his metatarsal bones. I don't remember him mentioned anything about size, though

    Shoe trends

Fit is critically important. I remember Jim Courier or some other big name like that, they liked half size smaller shoes for game day. This way, their shoes were really, really tight. I don't think an Altra like shoe would work for tennis. On the other hand, I do agree that we need more...

Dear NIKE , PLEASE bring this back !

Sign me up. I have a pair of their reissue from early 2000s and the PU midsole fell apart last summer.
