Is Nadal's 2 to Djokovic's 5 at Wimbledon an anomaly?

Maybe on slow Wimbledon grass. On true 90’s grass or at current Halle grass Federer would wipe the floor with Nadal. Grass has become a joke and isn’t suppose to be about baseline rallies. Nadal does dot have the serve or return to prosper on true fast grass. Dustin Brown wiped the floor with...

    Most Impressive "hard-luck" Runner Ups

All of Fed’s losses to Nadal at the French. Federer would very likely have 6 RG titles if not for Nadal, it’s ridiculous. Nadal was the only one stopping him for years.

    Agassi vs Nalbandian Backhand

Ive always said the down the line backhand is the true testament to evaluating a great backhand. Murray was awesome cross court but gutless when it came to going down the line.

    Agassi vs Nalbandian Backhand

That is just brilliant shotmaking which every member on this board should just applaud. Shots like that are why I watch tennis.

    Agassi vs Nalbandian Backhand

Watch highlights of their matches. Nalbandian generally got the better of the backhand to backhand exchanges and was much bolder in pulling the trigger down the line. Nalbandian was better down the line and his slice was superior.

    Fastest FHs hit you know

I used to love when Blake would take those massive cuts. He blew a young prime Nadal out with that power a few time son hardcourt. I remember their WTF match and it was an insane performance of power from Blake.

Ex Federer coach would pick Rafa to play for his life

You would pick Nadal because his level doesn't fluctuate as much as Federer’s. A prime Nadal relied on his legs which are generally more consistent than timing of the ball. Federer is more likely to have an off day due to his heavier reliance on timing and shotmaking. If I was guaranteed a peak...

Better inside-out forehand - Nadal or Federer?

You have to go with Federer at least in his prime. Federer was better at flattening it out and hitting winners. There’s way more highlights of Fed hitting inside out winners on Nadal than vice versa.

Federer vs. Mantilla 2003 Rome Final

Has anyone watched this match in full? Did Mantilla just play an amazing match or was Federer off? I’ve never watched much of Mantilla before but I heard he was great grinder in his prime. From the clips I’ve seen his one hander looks beautiful.

    French Open cancelled?

I would cancel the French. It’s not worth the risk and it’s a garbage slam anyways. Let’s play Wimbledon and then call it a year.

    COVID-19 and the clay season

If RG gets cancelled that might be the end of Nadal. A lot of people had penciled in this RG as one of Nadal’s last shots at a slam.

How much can pro players bench / squat / deadlift?

There’s a lot of untrained guys with average genetics that could get off the couch and squat 225 no problem. It wouldn’t be unheard off to see an athletic freak like Nadal with that leg development rep 315.

How much can pro players bench / squat / deadlift?

i rememberer reading years ago that Agassi was close to a 3 plate max bench.
  14. R

How much can pro players bench / squat / deadlift?

i've seen them all in person and Thiem actually has a smaller frame and thinner legs than Fed and Nadal. Federer is much broader up top with a more athletic bone structure and thicker calves. Nadal is very thick in the legs and could probably squat a decent amount of weight. Nadal could probably...

Roger Federer to miss French Open after having knee surgery

Absolutely brutal news. Federer usually plays some highly entertaining tennis at Dubai and Indian Wells.

    New RG balls details

What balls did they end up using in 2011? Those balls allowed aggressive shot making and the ability to hit through the court.

Clay-inflated career achievements? If so, there is a Grand Slam skew on hardcourts

Stop combining the US Open and the Australian. They are different surfaces and conditions. Nadal’s major resume is very skewed to one surface and one major.

Thiem: winning a Slam title in Big 3 era counts more

It shouldn’t happen because 38.5 years old is ancient for tennis. He should have been pushed out long ago. Sampras was basically pushed out at 31. Federer did however did have a very easy draw this year.

Austrian Death Machine to Destroy Djokovic on Sunday

I’d say they are pretty comparable. Both guys hit huge off off both wings and play the one hander. Both guys also play behind the baseline. Djokovic has trouble with Stan because he can’t just pick on his backhand and he gets timid when Stan starts to bully him. Djokovic also has no variety to...

Djokovic's Big 4 Dominance at AO

Djokovic is the best slow hardcourt player of all time. His whole game is about playing like a backboard, consistency and pushing. His return of serve is the best of all time and his consistency from both wings is unreal. On a garbage surface like the AO where attacking players have no chance...

Austrian Death Machine to Destroy Djokovic on Sunday

Wawrinka has pummeled Djokovic in hard court slams multiple times and has come close in others. Thiem is one of the biggest hitters on tour, in his prime and plays pretty similar to Wawrinka. I wouldn’t write him off.

2020 Australian Open SF: Novak Djokovic [2] vs Roger Federer [3]

He’s 38, injured and playing on slow hard, what do you expect? Djokovic will be getting his ass kicked when he’s 38.

2020 Australian Open SF: Novak Djokovic [2] vs Roger Federer [3]

This match is going to be ugly. I will record it and check the results in the morning to see if it’s worth watching. Federer cannot hit through this court, has been serving terrible and has looked terrible throughout. Djokovic will play steady and Federer will be shanking and coughing up short...

    2020 Australian Open SemiFinal :- [5] Dominic Thiem v/s [7] Alexander Zverev

Thiem should have been at this point along time ago. Federer is ancient and Nadal and Novak are approaching mid 30’s. I feel like Thiem should have been at this stage in 2016. He’s had to wait for all of these guys to decline significantly. In comparison Federer was beating up on an old Agassi...

2020 Australian Open QF :- [7] Alexander Zverev vs [15] Stanislas Wawrinka

Stan would still give him trouble. Djokovic plays him like an idiot with no variety and he does not rush him. Novak plays his typical steady backboard pusher game with consistent balls to Stans strike zone. He plays gutless against Stan.

2020 Australian Open QF :- [7] Alexander Zverev vs [15] Stanislas Wawrinka

Wawrinka’s ground game is so much better than Federer’s nowadays. He has no trouble crushing the ball from either wing even on this slow court. You have to love the power he generates.

AO’20 QF Men’s Singles: (3) R Federer (SUI) vs Tennys Sandgren

Federer is barely moving now. Skip the French and give Wimbledon a go and retire right after.

AO’20 QF Men’s Singles: (3) R Federer (SUI) vs Tennys Sandgren

Federer is just rattled. This is two slams in a row where he has looked terrible from the ground. Federer’s longevity is unbelievable but he’s washed up now.

AO’20 QF Men’s Singles: (3) R Federer (SUI) vs Tennys Sandgren

Federer is playing like pure garbage. His ground game is not even top 30 right now.

AO’20 QF Men’s Singles: (3) R Federer (SUI) vs Tennys Sandgren

Federer looks terrible from the ground this tournament. He’s going to get pummeled by Djokovic.
